I can go 6/1 in lane but after that I end up dying 5 times and going 7/6 and then teamfight badly and die over and over again. Also I have the same issue with Leblanc :/. Easy champs I know but spamming doesn't get the job done.

Riven has a very demanding skill curve once you start seeing people who know how to deal with her, she's very easily countered since she has to be in your team, on your carries, to have much impact in a fight. If you don't have flash up you basically have nothing to contribute to a fight unless a squishy is badly out of position.
The best thing you can do is just keep playing her until you've got a feel for her. Also learn her animation cancels, she's awful without them.
