It's a poor strategy if you know it can be used against you.

of course i dont TRY to be near minions against a yasuo but if your farming and all that you HAVE TO be near them then yasuo just gets free poke at you then dashes around so you cant land any skill shots then he flashes emote and walks away without a scratch

You can try to anticipate his dashes. I played Galio into Katarina the other day and actually won lane because I was able to predict when she would dash onto one of her daggers or a minion. Or, you could play an artillery like Xerath or Lux who can farm at a distance away from your allied minions. He can't poke you if he can't reach you.

You say you beat Kat as Galio as if he's not a counter... Also she doesn't have any dashes, they're blinks.

No, I say I beat Kat as Galio BECAUSE he is the counter, i.e. has a lot of counterplay in his kit vs. a Katarina. The idea I was inferring was to play similarly against Yasuo. I've seen Vel'Koz utterly destroy Yasuo because of the inherent counter his kit is vs him. Also, I said dashes because I couldn't bring to mind the word "blink" for some reason... started to say "flashes" but I didn't want to get that confused with summoner 4.

Actually, Flash is considered a blink as well.

Certainly. I only didn't want it to seem like I meant Flash specifically and not the blinks in her actual kit.
