One last about Snowdown
Honestly, I don't understand why people defend Riot on this. I don't need free stuff, that's not the point. Let's sum up the "event":
- added poro snacks to poro king - seriously this was the big change?
- slightly skinned summoner's rift (only for normal blind though, as draft is disabled for us) - people who play only ranked couldn't care less
- possibility to buy legacy content - yay, without any discount, buy outdated stuff for full price. Good only for a small minority of the playerbase (collectors)
- gambling with paid hextech boxes to, wait for it, earn a chance to open a second random box!
- no discounts whatsoever
- 3 new 1350RP skins - this happens every 2 weeks
In which reality this is considered a good event? I don't know, did I miss something that made this event special? Even shops IRL (which exist solely to earn money for the goods they sell) were giving out stuff, doing discounts, giveaways and whatnot. Riot, which pretends to be doing stuff not only for money, but for the community as well, wasn't able to provide even a stupid personalized discount like last year (or like during almost every other event throughout the year). Nope, for Christmas, dear community, there is a gambling system for RP.
