"Between several events (abusive--emotionally-- stepfather, stress of family, breaking up, having anxiety and depression), along with that hyperfocus, I played League constantly. I also disregarded everything. I started skipping college classes. Suddenly that'd turn to a week. Or more.

I stopped showering. I didn't eat every meal. I stopped helping my family. I almost never left my room.

It was League. League. League."

This was a reply to a post that I had just read after googling "breaking league of legends addiction" (of course i didn't have to finish typing in the last word, someone had already done this before).

My names Jason and I too have gone through this comedic problem of being addicted to video games. MOBA's and Sandbox types to be exact I guess.

Heres a little background about me just so i can feel completed when I finish this... hypothesis.:

I'm second to my older brother of 30 years, I'm 25. 1 half brother and 2 half sisters (that I've found out about or met) all on my dads side. Super Nintendo was when I really started getting into video games, Rock n' Roll Racing would probably have been the first game I'd ever had an addictive personality towards. Sounds weird but for the sake of the topic of this thread, I'll just call it addictive personality.

My brother had a Nintendo with 2 controllers and the duck hunt gun with a couple marios and zeldas. A time that just popped into my head was when my brother wanted to take just his controller to his friends house who also had a nintendo and I flipped out screaming to mom, "Don't let him take the good controller!!!", throwing a tantrum and all. Of course the only reason one of the controllers was considered "better" is because it didn't have a short in the cord from me chewing on it since I was still teething when this was going on.

Amazing how young they start right? You should see the kids nowadays, they made the controllers cordless so they have to find something else to chew on.

Subject of the matter: Once I learned of playing against other players across the world I was hooked. It started with Graal Online when I was probably around a decade old which would have been late 90s to early 00s. Graal had several different worlds which resembled a SNES Zelda style of play. Graal RPG was the one that got me hooked for a couple years and gave me my first real thrill of being able to conquer anybody in the game whos had all the same opportunities as me but came up short against my skill. Imagine Zelda A Link to the Past (SNES) only there are a THOUSAND other people just like you for to you meet, tag along with or beat up along the way. Its WoW for SNES really. Many a night I would sneak up to the computer at night when I had school the next day and play Graal or Warcraft which brings me to my next addictive game of the 2000s.

Many people think World of Warcrafts st0ryline just poofed up out of nowhere or off some insignificant side game. But I know firsthand the magic of diablo 2, d2 lod, starcraft (bunker wars, golem wars, defenses), warcraft 3 reign of chaos and the frozen throne (legendary heroes, golem wars, hero wars, castle wars, tower defenses). Between 2000-2010 i was playing either d2, sc or wc3. Get tired of one, uninstall and play the other. Ironically, I didn't get into DotA until the later because DotA was so mainstream and only sissies play dota and i didnt want to do what everyone else does always the black cat.

anyway im tired of this cya
