Due to rune pages costing 6300 ip for some r%%%%%ed reason, I only have 2 rune pages; one for ad, one for ap. In blind pick, I was forced into support, and I dont have a support rune page, although I DO have 2 gold per 10 second quints. Guess what? I'm stuck with my ad runes now because I cant edit them in champ select. You can edit masteries in champ select, why not runes?
It's because that would allow you to set up whatever rune page you wanted during champion select without having to buy additional pages. There is no other reason.
I'm not thrilled that runes and rune pages something Riot makes money on; it would be nice if everyone had the same options no matter how much time or money they'd invested. But as long as rune pages are something you have to purchase, it wouldn't make sense to let you edit in champ select.
When I play support, I either use AP on a Janna/Soraka/Nami or something, or AD on a Alistar/Thresh/Braum. Because I'm not gonna get more rune pages.
You can't edit rune pages in champion selection because you buy rune pages. If you could edit rune pages, then everyone who bought rune pages would be very upset, having wasted the IP/RP for purchasing the pages.
Just save up some IP and when a 2 for 1 rune page sale comes out snag a few.
