Well I feel a little better then,... And how far did you get on your main account? I know people that started around the time I did and they made gold but not in 33 games or less. This isn't your first time through is it? Who do you main and did you play a variety or a select few?

This is my main account. I only started doing ranked less than a week before the season was over. I stopped at plat because I wanted the border. Haha, honestly I only had an hour left before the servers shut down when I got it. I realistically could have made it to diamond but that requires investing a minimum of 100+ games. I hate ranked, which is why every season I wait until the last month/week to start playing it seriously. I find it far too stressful and find playing with a group of 5 friends much more preferable. That being said, I do have a good knowledge of the types of players in ranked and the best ways the win a game. What I main wildly depends each year. I also rotate the champions I play, never staying on one for too long. Right now I'd say theres 45+ champs Im comfortable enough with to play ranked. http://www.lolking.net/summoner/na/22383656#ranked-stats shows the different champs I played throughout my ranked season. This season my primary 2 were swain and velkoz. Swain is a very safe first pick, velkoz is a very good counter pick(while still being relatively safe). Both are capable of taking on 2-3 champions simultaneously when fed, which is an absolute when picking someone to carried ranked with. Swain is capable of taking on an entire team for an extended duration but can have some problems reaching the back line. Velkoz can die if caught out but can melt a fed adc (I-e vayne) without ever having to get close.
