Get off your high horse....

Im sorry but Im so sick of this community just saying "low elo sucks" and that any game mode that isn't ranked, doesn't take skill. Like come on, everyone starts at normals, everyone has fun on normals, and everyone starts off as a low elo. Im just tired of people saying "thats low elo menality" because guess what, a lot of people are low elo. To get better as a community we have to be able to understand that its just a game, and a rank doesnt make you a "I know everything about this game and you don't"

Be supportive, alot of people are trying to get better and a lot of people are in elo hell. The most toxic behavior I know is when people start saying "well you're a low rank so you suck and know nothing". Like give advice to that person and dont do it in a condescending manner. If a teammate is struggling then help them, dont ridicule.

Make love, (alot of hot steamy direct accepting love) and not Chernobyl level toxicity.Gnar

The biggest issue is that champion balance is completely ignorant of the fact most people play Normals and those are the people who shovel money into the company. Don't like the fact Nasus needs extremely specific counterpicks to beat in lane, and you didn't get to pick one of them because it's blind? Too bad. Don't like the fact the enemy has a Katarina and you didn't pick Malzahar to beat her because you couldn't see she was picked/ban her like everyone does every game? Too bad. Don't like the fact you play normals and have bought more skins than some of the LCS players but still get treated like shit despite the fact you've PAID Riot? Too. Fucking. Bad. They don't care about the customers. At this point, all they care about is making sure the flashiest champions with abilities that no one can counter or replicate are picked in LCS.

I remember back in the glory days of Halo being in my god form lvl 50 I rarely meet people who would shit talk the lower levels unless the lower level player insulted a higher level one.

Back in Halo 3 everyone worked for that 50 and clans helped you get there as well. League is the exact opposite. While in Halo people would at times go out of their way to help an ally, in League a game that requires more team work, it feels like you fight your teammates more then you do the enemy. As if the actually foe isn't even the target it's how much better you can do then you allies.

Maybe console community's are just more pleasant outside of COD but when your teammate saw you get 3 headshots in a row then juggled the sniper rifle to you in Halo, it was a kindness that was expected.

In League if a mid laner steals dragon and kills two enemy players, only stopped by a lack of mana, the jungler will still take blue buff because "You're capable enough as you are, why do you need blue?"

Maybe halo had better teamwork because of the lack of resilience on your team. You didn't need it to win but it was something universally seen as a better thing to do.

Gotta say, this touched me on a different level. ##This is going to be long but I will do my best to make it short, since it hurts to write this story. :'(

I joined around the time Zac was released and stopped playing because lack of interest, but came back because of friends playing the game @ my game design class and Vel'Koz was teased, then released. I had no idea what I was doing, but Ziggs helped me through it. Love his kit and character design!

I've been Bronze 1 since Season 4. I don't like playing ranked when everyone is on tilt for the dumbest reasons... Sure taking Clarity on Soraka is/was a bad choice but I like doing it... I won't do it again, but nobody complained before in Normals; Ranked is like Highschool. It's not fun and thank god I finished it. --- I got Bronze 1 and I stopped playing Ranked. I sometimes have days where I might do it again just to see if I get Gold, but I don't know anymore.

I am still Bronze 1, and you know what? I don't care. I've been looked down as a bad player because of my rank, instead my performance. I lost a friend because of a Platinum player. He would criticizes me on everything, and not in a good way; Bad plays, Bad builds, Not listening. My friend and I weren't close but I thought we we're cool. One day the Platinum player says to my friend ''That's why you will always be better than him.'' <--- That alone is used against me.

The day that it hit me, is when I see my friend in a queue and I ask if I could play. He already started/got in the game so I just spectated --- and joined the Skype call. He was playing w/ two new players and I thought this would be great to say some things to them. A few minutes into the match and I see him winning top. I said ''Why are you top when you could be helping mid.'' (he has a lot of kills and is hard pushed while the other lanes are struggling). I didn't want it to come off as an order or anything. I told him again to go help mid because they could use some teamwork/share in the glory of his kills. But ''nah. [Platinum player] says I'm better than you at League. Don't make me kick you from the call.'' Where did this huge ego even come from? I genuinely felt a wash of shame and sadness. Looking at it now, I guess I shouldn't be friends with someone like that, but man was it rude.

Later down the line, the Platinum decides his Real Life/Game (ranked games of course) issues are getting in the way and deletes everyone off his friendslist. So now I am stuck with a large ego'd friend and the Plat deletes me. Awesome...

For the past few weeks I have been playing with a new player --- Calling him ''Cake'' --- a very silly kid that wants to learn more about the game. I made him leave a friend because his 'friend' --- I'll call him ''Fen'' --- was a huge jerk and is everything that is wrong with toxic players. Fen complains a lot and if he doesn't get his way, he starts typing in chat and screaming at us while we are having fun. We gave Fen three strikes and he hit all of them. Fen was also giving tips to Cake, but very bad ones. I can't remember exactly, but one was like: Buy RoA on AP champs. Then Cake proceeds buy RoA on Veigar.

RECENTLY. No idea how Cake found this other guy today, who is Gold 1. The other guy --- I'll call him ''Goldie'' --- is in a game with Cake. I am spectating because I've lost the power to play these few weeks. He is yelling at me saying ''Shut up you're bad'' and it didn't take too long for him to look like an idiot, telling him ''I'm not in the game.'' and he shuts up. Cake is trying to learn Kha'Zix Jungle, and the Goldie is saying ''Dude gank me, you're bad''. Why is he such an ass-hat? It's like he doesn't know he is trying to learn. Soon after he rages and leaves the CurseVoice and rages in-game chat (Cake is telling me as I can't see it). How is this behavior okay? He talks big but from what I was watching, he wasn't that great. How is he Gold? The Goldie even said himself he didn't want to play Ranked because he might go down to Silver... wat... So you're saying you don't deserve it? I don't understand.

Thank you for reading. I hope this long story wasn't boring or dumb. summoner 1

I've been around league for a very long time. I can remember all of the ways that people have interacted with me in the past. I honestly have seen this community go from being very generous to very toxic. We are not as toxic as we have been in the past but I can't say that we are to the point where we take care of one-another in game. I want to start something. I want to do something. I want to work to make the community appreciate one-another, but I'm not sure where to start. A group, guild, team, something where the whole point is to be nice and generous to the other players.

also, I have been working on getting better, and I can honestly say that I have learned more from a positive silver player than I have ever learned from any rude plat player.
