So I just completed my 10 games to get placed in ranked. I win 9 out of the 10 games and I get placed in Bronze 2? I was just on my alt account and won 8 out of 10 and got placed in gold 4 a few days ago.
How am I in the same bracket as people who are 2 - 8 and I was 9 - 1?
How does losing ONE game out of the 10 warrant being put in bronze?

Libbie Higgins1 votesIt shouldn't matter who I picked. Someone needs to fix this. And I shouldn't be forced to try to climb out of bronze because their system screwed up. This makes me not even want to play ranked. This is so dumb.
I busted my behind trying to win those games and I basically just had RIOT spit in my face and toss me in Bronze 2 regardless of my effort and hard work.
Best Kog NA1 votesWhat were you ranked last season? If you were ranked lower you prob can't be ranked higher. It also might have been the people you play with. If your mmr is too low you wouldve gotten placed against lower people, thus making it harder to move up.

If you can't climb out of Bronze 2 in less than a week you belong there anyway.
Bronze is hard to get out of because people don't work together and they fight with each other the entire game and go AFK. I don't need your unnecessary sass in my topic. You can get out.

I'm not being sassy I'm telling you the truth - if your skill level is actually substantially higher than bronze, climbing is easy. If it's not, then you're placed close to where you belong and have no right to blame riot for their system doing its job.
The fact that you think bronze is difficult indicates to me that you probably don't belong much higher. This means you should focus on improving your play, not on what rank you are. If your play improves, your rank improves.

Not a lot of information here to make a deduction on this.
Your placement is also based on your hidden MMR. So if on the account you were just placed Bronze 4 in, your MMR was probably really low...like Bronze 5 ish. Whereas your Gold account, was Probably Gold MMR and placed you accordingly. All depends on your your accounts previous MMR was. Its a soft reset. Not a hard one. so it still retains MMR of where you last left off.

My surf account just reached lvl 30 like a few weeks ago and I never play on it for it to have any type of MMR. This account was bronze 1 last season. I never played any games at all on my other account and just got it placed a few days ago and it put it in GOLD 4.

The same algorithms they are using for the score you get now at the end of each game (S, A, B, C, D) is how they determine your rank too. So if you went like 2/8/1 in every game as katarina mid, but happened to get lucky and get carried each game and won 9 out of 10 that way, you will be placed significantly lower than if you went like 9/1/10 all those games.

When I saw the little rank emblem forming, I was so excited to see what it was gonna form into and when it turned into BRONZE 2, I just stared at the screen for a while like.. WTF?

I was the same way last season. I was Bronze 1 working my way up (failed my series to silver twice), did placements, won 7 out of 10, and got placed bronze 5. I was so mad. lol

Zero Skill Tank1 votesWhat was your division on that account in season 5? If it was low Bronze, or Silver 5 with absurdly low MMR it is possibly a correct placement. Picking Illaoi most definately didn't matter, but last season MMR is taken into account before placements so that silverados don't play their 10 matches with diamondinhos.

That's exactly how it works though. It puts you slightly lower than your last season if you did well. Therefore making it way easier to climb up and harder to drop since your mmr will be hella high.
