What really happened: Corki realized it was World's Patch and so increased his power exponentially since he gained no buff or indirect buff and no one planned on picking him up. Now he acts as the sacrifice to stop Riven, fearing that if Riven was more powerful, people would play her more than him.
Let us hold a moment of silence for our good friend.
