Dunkey was toxic and the appropriate actions were taken.

The only one acting out of accord right now is Dunkey, who flipped his lid over a 2 week ban.

Downvote me to oblivion dunkey fanboys

Edit: To everyone addressing the title. This was made when the boards were flooded with posts defending Dunkey.

I'm not gonna lie, I find some of videos enjoyable, but he seems pretty toxic imo.

Honestly, people are giving him too much credit, his sarcastic undertone hid what I knew what a Toxic Player and I'm glad Riot gave him what he deserved. When someone is intentionally feeding, don't tell them to get shot or something. Ask once if they are intentionally feeding, and then just ignore them if they continue. Report them at the end.

Telling people to die or commit suicide is never acceptable, no matter how toxic they are. A grown man like Dunkey should know better than to devolve into such things.

"Unpopular opinion" don't sensationalize this, this opinion is very popular. Even I agree with it.

I agree. Was probably a lot more toxic than his videos shows and shouldn't be given a free pass just because he is a popular YouTuber.

Personally, I enjoy Dunkey's videos. Still, I believe he earned his punishment. He seems fairly toxic. I always assumed that he would pretend to be toxic in game and let all of the other players know in advance that he was doing it for a video, but I guess I was wrong.

No one is above the law.

I Strongly agree with you, he's been toxic in over half his games. Rules are rules. If he acts like a jerk, he will be treated like one, even pro players are not immune to it. Good for us to have one less toxic player to play with or against.

Being popular and making videos is not an excuse to be a jerk toward teammates and enemy team

Liked his videos, don't enjoy his other videos, unsubscribed a bit ago.

He really did deserve it though.

Who's Dunkey?

If there are people out there who enjoy a comedy style semi-similar to Dunkey's, I might suggest trying Darkk mane. He makes pretty funny (imo) league vids, but he isn't toxic as far as I've seen. Obviously not as popular, but he has a pretty good style I'd say and I enjoy his vids quite a bit :D

Downvote me to oblivion

Gets upvoted to oblivion hehe. Yea he acted like a dick and he got what was coming to him, yes the mal should be banned as well but that doesnt mean dunkey gets to walk away unscathed

I dont like agreeing with you. But still a chat ban would have been better for his "verbal abuse" that makes the game fun, he still had a strong argument it just wasnt appropriate.

Soritz9/13/2015, 8:58:05 PM3 votes

The problem here isn't trying to prove whether or not he deserved the ban or if he was not being 100% truthful to us about how he received the ban.

We know that he is toxic AF. His entire LOL video career is complied of him blasting terrible players and making fun of them. We also were just given an example of one of the reasons he received his ban. So I agree with him taking the ban and riot not going easy on him. He's not the first or last person to receive a 14 day ban

The real problem for me lies in the fact that Riot has established a system that doesn't work because they only target half of the problem. Most people who are toxic (even myself sometimes) are toxic because this game is completely filled to the brim with people who don't really give a shit about the game. They don't care to win, they just do whatever they want to do with no regard of others. The game is filled with people who troll intentionally and then require (by some sort of stupid social need) attention. I would say about 80% of my games are filled with people who afk on purpose, feed on purpose or lock in double jungle or w/e because its what they want to do. There is no community or respect for one another. This creates bad feelings between players because we cant catch a break. Ranked is in theory a place where after you play enough games you are matched with and against players roughly in your same skill bracket. That can change somewhat with the introduction of duo que or smurfs but you shouldn't find yourself out matched every single game.

So what exactly are they doing to stop this or prevent this from happening? At the moment all they have in place is a leave buster system that makes it hard to afk several games in a row.

In an effort to keep my rambling from going on too far this is the goal of what I'm trying to say. If you're going to put in a system that indiscriminately bans and hands out restrictions to players who choose to defend themselves with words, you're going to have to be just as swift to punish players who make this game almost no fun because of their actions. You can argue that you have no way of knowing that they are doing it on purpose but I nearly guarantee that if you sent them the same type of warnings telling them that their recent actions and behavior in game is not acceptable, they will be forced to consider that their actions have consequences. Give them some room for error but don't treat them as a non threat. Most players act the way they do because they know there is no reprisal for their actions. All you have to do is stay out of chat and you're free to do whatever you want.

This is something I've been holding back for some time but ultimately this game is one of the best and most fun games to play because of its diversity and complexity. The serious issue here is that most players feel the same way but cannot seem to have any fun with this game anymore because riot does nothing to improve on this issue. Its a game breaking issue that no one has the balls to tackle openly. Let people use the mute button and be adults and punish the root cause.
