The problem here isn't trying to prove whether or not he deserved the ban or if he was not being 100% truthful to us about how he received the ban.
We know that he is toxic AF. His entire LOL video career is complied of him blasting terrible players and making fun of them. We also were just given an example of one of the reasons he received his ban. So I agree with him taking the ban and riot not going easy on him. He's not the first or last person to receive a 14 day ban
The real problem for me lies in the fact that Riot has established a system that doesn't work because they only target half of the problem. Most people who are toxic (even myself sometimes) are toxic because this game is completely filled to the brim with people who don't really give a shit about the game. They don't care to win, they just do whatever they want to do with no regard of others. The game is filled with people who troll intentionally and then require (by some sort of stupid social need) attention. I would say about 80% of my games are filled with people who afk on purpose, feed on purpose or lock in double jungle or w/e because its what they want to do. There is no community or respect for one another. This creates bad feelings between players because we cant catch a break. Ranked is in theory a place where after you play enough games you are matched with and against players roughly in your same skill bracket. That can change somewhat with the introduction of duo que or smurfs but you shouldn't find yourself out matched every single game.
So what exactly are they doing to stop this or prevent this from happening? At the moment all they have in place is a leave buster system that makes it hard to afk several games in a row.
In an effort to keep my rambling from going on too far this is the goal of what I'm trying to say. If you're going to put in a system that indiscriminately bans and hands out restrictions to players who choose to defend themselves with words, you're going to have to be just as swift to punish players who make this game almost no fun because of their actions. You can argue that you have no way of knowing that they are doing it on purpose but I nearly guarantee that if you sent them the same type of warnings telling them that their recent actions and behavior in game is not acceptable, they will be forced to consider that their actions have consequences. Give them some room for error but don't treat them as a non threat. Most players act the way they do because they know there is no reprisal for their actions. All you have to do is stay out of chat and you're free to do whatever you want.
This is something I've been holding back for some time but ultimately this game is one of the best and most fun games to play because of its diversity and complexity. The serious issue here is that most players feel the same way but cannot seem to have any fun with this game anymore because riot does nothing to improve on this issue. Its a game breaking issue that no one has the balls to tackle openly. Let people use the mute button and be adults and punish the root cause.
