Elo hell

I see a lot of people complain about elo hell.. Afks, feeders, etc. Mostly complaints from silver and bronze. I would like to say my thoughts about elo hell. Currently I'm at gold 3 and I smurf sometimes when I dodge some games either normals or ranked to avoid 10+ dodge timers. My smurf is unranked and sits around bronze to silver elo, I dominate almost every game going 15-2 or 30-0, going on massive winstreaks etc, picking any champion except support. The mistake low elo players make is not responding to trades, and give free poke, this will eventually result in a kill and start a snowball, to make snowballing even easier people never ward. They also dive a lot and failing without a plan. Afks are once in like 10-15 games, but if you are extremely fed you won't even need that extra teammate, sometimes you can just 1v5 their whole team. Feeders will occur on your team or the other, tell them to play safe or just get more fed than the other enemy player. I don't recommend playing support in low elo because either your ADC won't follow up, cs like shit or just straight up feed, climbing out of elo hell is just improving and turning an advantage into a massive snowball leading to the game. Assassins and ADCs are best at carrying

Also when people say I deserve gold-diamond and their team sucks, then when they get destroyed by a smurf they say I can't get out of elo hell, too many smurfs. If they are truely good enough they will get out, not with that mentality

As a support main of low elo. This makes me cry. Q~Q That's why I usually try and make sure I duo with a good adc that I've seen consistently follow trades, cs well, or just play smart and not overextend.

I see a lot of threads like this and while I agree ELO hell is a mental thing more than a game thing (the ELO I hated the most was when I made gold 5 S3 and was barely good enough to make it so I was only able to keep up in two roles and it sucked a lot bc people would rage since I was bad at the other 3 lol), I think threads like this overlook something.

The general advice is "get better and stomp your opponents then it won't matter." That's great for some players, but it isn't the only route. My mechanics are pretty weak and I climbed from Bronze 3 in the first season I played ranked to Gold 5, and from Bronze 3 again this season to mid/low silver currently (still going up as I work and get better, but I was super out of practice at the start of the season), all while not playing snowball carry champs like suggested. (I was mid silver s4 as I never really found something I liked and put in time to get better)

The thing is, instead of trying to get good mechanics and carry myself out w/ assasins or ADC (I don't play either...... EVER), I work to get better at what I enjoy and am comfortable on. It may take a little longer to climb than someone good a ADC or an amazing Riven or Zed player, but it is way faster than trying to get good enough at the mechanics needed for those champs to consistently dominate at my role. The thing is you have to understand what the other option is. People at low ELO are shit at objective control. I played Nunu jungle s3 and was often multiple level and every single dragon that game up on the enemy jungle while I was climbing. Nunu brings a ton of utility so if you can pick out who your best lane is you can get them going and protect them in team fights and you'll win more than you lose pretty easily (I still play him jungle since I'm so comfortable on him and he's pretty strong in low ELO this season even though I do shit damage). This season I've been playing Heimer jungle and I can't even remember how many Bronze games I won after hitting 5 drags and then grabbing Baron and ending (Heimer can poke an opponent out and take a super early drag w/ the jungle and then just control it every spawn from there). Between those games and the ones where I took first tower and rotate, and suddenly we are up global gold of 3 or 4 towers and the whole team starts to do well, it has been pretty easy to go up. Heimer isn't an assassin or ADC, but he takes towers and controls objectives and my terrible skills have me at 66% win rate over about 80ish games with him because he is easier for me to win w/ than by just bringing damage.

TLDR; Yeah this is true, but it over looks other methods which may take a little longer than being way better than your opponent at ADC or Assassins. The methods it overlooks may be easier for some players to win with if they lack the mechanics for the roles you suggest and don't completely dominate at them, or just don't enjoy the play style and don't want to practice it to get good enough to carry past silver that way. Those players shouldn't be discouraged and should try to find other ways to win (specifically high utility or fast pushing champs, and working on identifying the strong players on your team and helping them out so they can carry).

I agree with all this. You need specific plans to deal with low elo, which I shall list quickly:

support: steamroll botlane and hope your adc isn't a potato. or just pick annie. the point is that you need to crush your lane to have a good chance of winning.

adc: play like you aren't going to get much peel. that might even mean frozen mallet or an early banshees.

jungle: play someone who can gank a lot in the first couple minutes, and 1v1 when your opponent doesn't follow the gank. pantheon is fantastic at this.

top: you can get a lead through mechanics, and then snowball off it. then go snowball the map while your enemy is behind

mid: same

good luck, and be sure to focus on those objectives.

Plans

Top- I do not specialize in this role, either get a good initiator or someone like riven because she excels at snowballing and fighting multiple people.champions that lack the following will make carrying more difficult because the best way to win is to win as fast as possible.

Mid- Assassins, get good trades, resulting in a kill or zone, push minions to tower then roam, kill the other laners, push their lane to turret if possible, get some damage off if needed. Repeat, for objectives try to flank their team, wait for the fight to begin because you will die instantly because your squishy if you start the fight unless you have an escape. Mages- they lack mobility and sustain, unless its le blanc.

Support- I do not play support often but I know some tricks n tips, when you get sightstone ward tri and river and not the bush, why? Because you have time to react if you are pushed up. Get good trades, do not fight when they have more creeps. Adapt to their bot comp. Roam if you're ADC can play safe and farm at tower and not die for a few creeps..

Jungle- take advantage of gank opportunities, save your gap and cancel autos when it finishes and walk ahead of them. Help push creeps to tower, time summoners, don't gank 0/5 lanes and mute laners if they qq about no hanks, help laners that are winning

Adc- this rely on more mechanics, poke when they cs, stay away from their support's cc abilities, follow up with trades. Take control of drag and have map awareness. Take not tower, roam and take other towers or get kills. Stay in the back and learn to kite. Practice cs.

I'm in Elo hell and I agree to what your saying and I see my mistakes but my team mates don't and they can't comprehend the big picture. So when we lose they need some one or some thing to blame and one that's been in circulation is Elo hell. They can't admit thier own mistakes and just because they wrecked one game in the past they feel like they aren't the problem even though 99% of the time it is them and that is what true Elo hell is about. People who can't admit thier own mistakes. So they are stuck in bronze. I am not above them I admit I do this to at times but I'm trying to improve.

i agree with everything you say but people so toxic and give up so much its real hell for me who dont own flat runes yet good news is im like 12 champions off a full roster so i can get runes soon. but i always expect 2 people no not even be worth while on ,my team and have won 2v5 s before so i dont ever think there is a game i cant win came back off a nexus that only had 1 hit to go before
