Omega Squad Teemo was the last one and has been out since 4 months, i might seem unpatient, just curious though.

Hey Jensus,

In regards to skins, we tend to veer away from announcing which champions will be getting a skin next, what that skin might be, and in cases like you've mentioned, if a legendary or ultimate skin is coming soon (tm).

There are a few reasons why we do this - the biggest one being we don't want to disappoint.

If we gave dates ahead of time, we'd occasionally be boxing ourselves into the corner of 'promises we can't keep'.

We've internally pushed back content before due to part of the skin not being ready, or making significant changes to an existing skin. We don't want to rush the content, and sometimes, in order to make the best possible skin, we need more time.

We've shelved skins before (Guardian of the Sands skins, for the most part, were a year or so old, and we went back to them last summer, made changes, and then shipped them.) This would have been a really bad feeling if over a year ago we said, "Okay, cool, new Rammus skin, guys!", and then you end up waiting over a year to actually see it/play it.

Another good example was waiting for another Lux skin after Steel Legion. While Star Guardian Lux was (hopefully) worth the wait, it still sucked being told 'new skin soon' and waiting ~two years for another skin.

While I can't give you an ETA, I'd be curious to hear if you had any legendary skin ideas in mind, or at least a champion who could benefit from one.

I think Jax would benefit from one because he is one of the older champions, even though he got SKT Jax (its legacy though) and that it would be nice for him because it would add few new lines for him too, he is known as the strongest duelist so maybe that would be neat for him, i dont know which theme i would give him though. Sion would be my second guess because he hasnt received a skin for 4 years, the Blight Crystal theme from the Skin&Champions concepts section is pretty cool imo. Honestly i only suggest these two because i really like them, which is kinda selfish, but if i had to be fair then a ADC should get a legendary skin, because they have none i think.

I agree that someone like Jax needs something with a bit more to him in terms of particles, sounds, etc. While I don't think it's impossible, since he doesn't have a lot to work with, it may be difficult to come up with a hardcore legendary skin.

Sion on the other hand has a bit more to him, especially with the update. I think a Blight Crystal theme on Sion could be awesome! It's super different from anything he has now.

As far as ADC legendaries, the only one I can think of is Primetime Draven. He's technically legendary, but we put him on sale for 975 RP as a thank you for supporting esports! I'd love to see a legendary for someone like Caitlyn, since she only has one skin that changes her particles.

I feel that either Maokai or Ryze , given the amount of pro play they have seen and how many people are playing them again, would benefit from a legendary skin pretty well. They have both seen quite a bit of pro play recently and are almost either pick/ban in lcs. Pretty common pickups and generally fun champions to play.

Aside from skins like Championship and Victorious, we don't really take popularity into account. Instead, we focus more on champions who need skins, or champions who could fit into a really cool thematic we're looking to build - something for an event such as Lunar Revel.

I would love to see a Maokai legendary skin - he has a lot going on in terms of kit, models and particles.

What champion could use a legendary skin is an interesting question. There are plenty of champions who could use more skins, but legendary skins are special.

My personal vote would be for Garen, and yes I have a reason for it beyond me being a Garen main.

Garen has a fair number of skins, but very few of them match Garen thematically. Garen is a classic law abiding good guy, and none of his skins really show that. In fact the best he has alignment wise are neutral skins, and that's not even mentioning the evil looking ones.

Perhaps a legendary skin is a bit out of the question (he did just get a skin after all), but something that shows Garen off as the paragon of Demacia he is supposed to be would be a nice change.

I agree - legendaries (and ultimates) really push the boundaries of a champion.

Garen is an interesting choice.

Let me pose this question to you - would you rather have a lesser tier skin, let's say 975 RP, that shows the type of Garen you've described above, or would you rather take the chance on a legendary skin to really break free of an ordinary Garen. Maybe he's mecha? Maybe you can dress him up in armor before the game (treading in more ultimate skins areas)?

While I would absolutely love a legendary or ultimate skin for my main, and as much as it pains me to say this, I supposed I would rather have the lesser tier skin.

From my perspective at least the high tier skins really fit with an aspect of who their champion is, but that's not exactly a requirement for the skins. I would, of course, prefer one that does both, but if I had to choose between a garen-teed good guy skin or a possibly good guy but legendary skin I would choose the lower tier.

Mecha or custom armor would be very interesting, but at the end of the day it's only a matter of whether or not he is that paragon of Demacia he is supposed to be. However I suppose these are not mutually exclusive, Mecha-Paragon Garen would be a curious sight.

That would definitely cover the "law" part, but Garen is pretty much THE example of Demacian ethics. You do what is right because it is right. He represents the side of Demacia that Demacia wants the world to see.

There is a darker side to Demacia too, however according to everything that has been shown in the lore Garen, along with most of Demacia, turns a blind eye to it in favor of the propaganda.

It would definitely make for an interesting skin, as Garen's quotes could easily be made to fit that style, but it doesn't quite fit what I'm asking for.

Honestly... Ezreal. Lets do a headcount of his skins:

7 skins that are 750 or lower (520 is a bracket which is no longer getting new skins)
1 skin that is 3250

If you want any sort of changed particles, you've got to go all the way to Ultimate skin. It feels really disappointing to have to pick between the furthest most edges of the skin spectrum on him.

On a skin related side-note, do you think there's any chance of getting a random skin selector in the client? My wife's wanting to own all the Sona skins, but as a consequence never knows which one she wants to use in game. An option for her to hit Random and have it select a skin for her (and others in that position) would be really nice.

You have a really good point here. Ezreal falls into one of the less ideal spots when it comes to the kinds of skin he has available.

I think Ezreal is a good candidate. If we can make an ultimate skin, we can made a legendary, right? Plus as OP mentioned, pretty much no ADC has a legendary skin.

As far as a random skin selector, it's not out of the question (I mean, we finally got ward skin selection in champ select), but there's no definite yes or ETA on it.

Or, we could try and blow it out of the water and make them ultimates. (This is where I start scope creeping hardcore. It's hard enough to make one ultimate skin. :P) Buuuut, it'd be cool if they attacked each other, armor fell off. :o

Dragonslayer/Dragon Hunter Rengar

Draconic Kha'Zix

The first is as if Rengar specialized in hunting Dragons, with fiery hands when he's at max Ferocity and when he uses Q, his W being an eruption of flame, and his Bola Strike being... well, on fire.

The second is as if Kha'Zix consumed a Dragon, evolving draconic traits. With dragon wings and flaming claws and shooting fireballs instead of spikes.

Both vanish in shimmering embers for their ults.

I've wanted this for so long.

Obligatory comment about Dragon Master Swain.

Anyway, I feel like a new, sinister legendary Mordekaiser skin would really help to emphasize his new focus on the Curse. Something like "Dark Slaver Mordekaiser" or "Tyrant Mordekaiser", which focuses on him being an Emperor that rules over the Shadow Isles and all souls that dwell there, including any on the Rift.

I know we just got King of Clubs Mordekaiser, but the new ghost dragon has me itching for a wicked, evil, heartless Mordekaiser skin to go with it.

I had a feeling DMS would come up here at some point. I'm still keeping my hopes up that this will be a thing at some point.

Despite Mordekaiser's unique silhouette, I think something along the lines of Shadow Isles would really stand out from the rest of his catalog of skins.

btw Katey, think you could ping the balance team for their thoughts on swain atm? I really feel like his AA animation could be cleaned up for a nice QoL buff, and possibly have his ult be a little smarter in prioritizing low hp minions to make it less painful for swain players trying to keep up in cs.

Don't forget that The community begged and begged for pool party Zac, and Riot's like, we're trying to avoid making a simple recolor, and everyone was just like, "no pool party zac then?" And riot was just like "If we do it, it'll be something more than just blue zac" And left it at that, then suddenly "SURPRISE!!!! We've got pool party Zac!!!" And everyone was like "WTF? WHEN DID YOU DO THIS?" And riot was like "We've been doing it for a while."

Basically, Riot probably wants to make Dragon Master Swain the most amazing BA ultimate level skin possible, Like, Huge Model changes, entirely new VO, entire set of brand new particles, and more. They've probably been working on DMS for the past couple years off and on remaking things as new tech get's introduced, or developing new tech that ends up being used on other champions or skins, see if it works well and gets received well. Overall, they're trying to make sure they have DMS do the idea and concept justice. It's also been a very long time since Swain got a skin in General, and Riot probably wants to make sure they blow the entire community out of the water with it.

XD Yeah, I'm aware of this. Was just wondering if I could get any extra info about it out of them. When morello first announced it, I never even played sawin, but now he's kinda my second main (right after AP tryn) so I may or may not be getting the skin when it comes out.

Also, I would really like to know if riot's been looking at swain as far as balance is concerned. He's very frustrating to farm with, as his ult has terrible AI regarding minion priority, and none of his spells (aside from his only form of cc) is any good at all for farming with, and his aa animation takes an eternity to complete.

This may be too soon, but I think Gangplank could greatly benefit from a Legendary skin. Maybe a robo Gangplank kinda like PROJECT: Yasuo, or a cyborg appearance like Kano from Mortal Kombat.

I also think Zed finally needs a new skin. Maybe perhaps an Arcade one?

How about we take "Arcade Zed" a bit farther and turn it into "Raver Zed"?

Q = Shurikens are now glowsticks. Every time you use Q, Zed throws a pair different colored glowsticks, colors chosen randomly.

W = Zed makes a clone of himself that slowly glows different dark colors.

E = Zed creates a burst of dark rave lights around him. The colors of the lights change every time you use the ability, chosen randomly.

R = Rave lights surround Zed and the target he's ulting. Once he lands, a disco ball appears above the target and party punk music starts playing originating from the target. The disco ball emits dark rave lights as it rotates above the target. After three seconds the disco ball explodes in a flash of dark lights.

Recall = Zed makes the same gestures but instead of little emblems appearing around him, glowsticks appear instead, each one a random color.

No more helmet, face is exposed. Eyes are still glowing red. Wearing typical raver/punk outfit. Face is partially tattooed, right arm is fully tattooed. Wearing a red jacket with no undershirt, exposing chest. Skinny black jeans with pocket chain.

I think that suits Arcade's idea of having a bunch of fun colors, without going into 2D effects, trading them instead for glowing effects and cool music.

Which champion could benefit the most from a skin that changes the model, particles, voice and everything associated with it? Yorick and Urgot.

... Alright, since a new Yorick skin isn't going to come out for a couple of years (minimum 2017), the best candidates would be Sion and Kassadin. They're the champions not on the "no skins list" that have waited the longest for new ones.

For Sion, I wouldn't mind seeing something akin to Dunkmaster Darius, only involving a better sport: American Football. "Football Captain Sion" with a giant Noxus uniform and helmet and a goalpost for an axe. When he casts his ultimate, he spikes a football. His E kicks a minion into the others with great flourish... and so on.
Kassadin could be more of a stage magician with his rift walks. Instead of that purple void he leaves behind, it could be a smoke cloud. A flock of birds flies out from his E. His Q could be some magician's apparatus. Hell, this skin could be what "Magnificent Twisted Fate" SHOULD have been after his rework.

Just my 2¢, though. I expect my change soon™.

I see it on the boards from time to time, but a role reversal of Diana and Leona would be cool. Legendary skins that change Diana's theme to sun and Leona's to the moon. Project: Leona was a skin concept I saw awhile back that I will try digging up the photo for, but that looked pretty damn legendary too.
