Note: 
is a mid game peak champion.
It's going to be incredibly uncommon and difficult to out-damage a same level of skill 
(a late game champion) during the late game.
With that aside.
Lucian deals considerable damage during early and mid game. However if you trip up lane with a couple of deaths, your damage will fall quite considerably. I think this applies to all if not, most ADCs.
Too bad that Lucian Q+auto+passive is a dead . Buff pls... He needs to be broken again.
Unlike that the trash Vayne, this guy can duel, teamfight, poke and waveclear. Vayne can only duel (plus everyone hates her cheesy kit - invisibility+stun+true dmg).
Also you still see on the LCS/ LPL/LCK that Lucian often destroys the lategame carries lategame. The only way to stop this monster is to keep him down whole game and be super tanky.
Lucian is still powerful. You have to make sure you take full advantage of your passive. Rushing

really increases your dps. Make sure you auto between using abilities, and he will quickly get off overwhelmingly more autoes than virtually anyone else. Also, remember your passive decreases cooldown on dash. This means unless you really need to dodge a particular skillshot (such as blitz's rocket grab), it is often better to start with a dash, as it will cooldown by the end of your combo, allowing you to use it again to further proc your passive.
