LET US PRAY FOR AN EAST COAST SERVER.
AMEN.
AMEN.
As an East Coast player, I'm more annoyed about the ocassional 200ms ping spikes than a consistent 100. I would appreciate it if I could get ~50ms, yeah, but I'd rather have a constant 90ms than a fluctuating 100-250.
Allahu Akbar

Be happy your servers are up most of the time Kappa Best regards from EUW ;)

Made a thread about it about 3 weeks ago, and I think a rioter said that they weren't going to create east coast servers, but instead make it better for east coasters.
there's a server located in Miami, Florida, United States Called:"Latin America North" i have 40 ping on that server. Why can't we use that server for east coast players since it's almost desert, well we could do it we could transfer our account but riot didn't make it a english server instead it's "spanish" could have make it english/spanish since
1:mexico is in north america south of US most people speak or understand spanish or from spanish mexican ancestry. 2: there's already 3 servers in south america (if you count LAN) 3: we only have 1 server 4: the distance between california and new york is greater than new-york and EUROPE (HI COUSINS!!!) so i rather play on EU time to time over LAN until they declare LAN the long awaited west coat server. english/spanish english i don't even care about the language anyways we wouldn't have to dealt with that if riot didn't screw things up!!! best thing they could do right now would be make a server in chicago or new york instead of moving everyone.
also something i hate a lot , why don't they link your account to both servers for the PVP net by linking both servers together, we connect on our server side and then can communicate with people from the other servers sort of linking both server IP adress (it works a bit like your forums not exactly that way it's much more advanced and efficient), and then you get to choose on what server you want to play the same way people can host from their location with the exception of hosting since the servers would be the one hosting.
i swear this would facilitate everything! how much would I get paid to do it? being able to link EU west and east chat NA west and east we might not play together often but at least we'll be able to talk with our friend on the other side of the continent. why not do NA/EU while we're at it, it's already possible to do it with SKYPE,HANGOUT, and MSN back in the day. seriously riot have a lot to catch on. NO REPLAY option are we living in stone age?
yes i do play on EU it's less toxic people are more mature and cry less,PERIOD. i have less ping when I play on EU server than when i play on the west coast server 5 hour to go in europe while it take me 7 hour to go to california so yeah it's farther.
and LAN server "latin america north" is also a NORTH AMERICA SERVER, PERIOD,so is mexico it's a north america country, period.
you want to know why they WON'T give us a east coast server? (even tho we "TECHNICALLY" have one)
because two third of the population live in the east coast 2/3 live in the east coast quite a lot isn't it?
imagine how empty their west coast servers would be, how long the matchmaking would take them. remember the 1 hour queue? just like that.
2/3 of LoL Professional players come from the east coast and are forced to move in the east coast for better connection, tsm was first located in the east (played on both EU,NA) but then moved in cali to have better pings for solo queue, clg , dignitas, curse moved in berverhills 2 billion house but like TSM and was in the east, CLG moved in california from the start, C9 moved in los angeles etc. and i know where all their house is located , i've been observing riot since it first started.
Ameno.
I'll just copypasta what I said in another similar thread about "east coast servers".
They are not making an east coast server, and that's final.
What they ARE making however is their own private network infrastructure that would be used ONLY for League of Legends traffic, as opposed to Riot sharing the current network infrastructure nearly every other company in the country does.
Basically what's going to happen is, they've built these PoP's (points of presence) all around the country (locations can be seen here ). These PoP's effectively work as "on ramps" to the private highway Riot made (the new network infrastructure). When you connect to Riot's servers, first your machine goes through its normal ISP (the most recent list of all the currently partnered ISP's they're working with are here ) and makes its way to the nearest PoP. When it connects to the nearest PoP, then it's basically connected directly to Riot's game server, with no other traffic from anything else (other than other league players) to bog it down.
Imagine driving to work every day, having to take the crowded highway there and back, and what should be a 10 minute drive takes about a 45+ minute crawl. Now imagine if the company you worked for decided to build their own goddamn highway EXCLUSIVELY for their employees to use to get to work quickly without being stuck in everyone else's traffic. That's basically what Riot is doing.

P.S. 400 + up vote topic on this topic when the forums started: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/GD/ZllogYWr-na-east-coast-server
Covet not those who have under 100 ms
Pfft, you guys complaining about 150 ping... I have shit internet + east coast. 350 ping on average, spikes up to 950 for about 5-10 minutes every other game.
This is a speed test from a server half an hour away from me, so imagine at the other side of another country...
The existing plan is to eventually move the servers to the center of the country. I doubt we'll ever see dedicated coastal servers.
Most recent updates on reducing East Coast ping
May the Dark Lord Chin Chin grant us servers.

I really dont want to see North America split in 2
I believe the goal is to have a more efficient coast-to-coast network set up, and to improve average ping greatly by moving the server to a more central location.
Amen~~signed up mine.
preach it brotha!
AMEN HALLELUJAH <3

Riot still needs to move the server to a central location. I don't know if they're done making contracts with ISPs.
As someone who lives in Vancouver and enjoys 20 ping constantly, I recently played marvel heroes which is hosted on the east coast and felt the pain of a constant 140-180 ping. I pray for you east coasters, I felt your pain >.<
(there are skills with a 0.2s cooldown in that game and nothing makes you feel the pain of high ping like a skill that should feel like instant cast, actually feeling like 0.5s cooldown. I imagine thats how a high ping riven feels like >.<)
From the north and east,
Eh man.
