Why does everyone play assassins in normals?

Mobility, burst... What's not to love? I can't really play assassins well, so I'll stick with poke-composition mid laners like Xerath. Assassins love it because they can close the gap I try to create with him and just tickle him to death because he's so squishy.
That's my thought at least, from a non-assassin player
Honestly it's annoying. I can't even learn how to play
without going up against Z€d or L€€ W1n. As for why, probably so they can just press a button and watch
's health bar go bye-bye
because people like to be aggressive. just counter with tankier champs or champs who can stay behind lines without having to venture out far from towers and the team like malzahar
Why does everyone play assassins in normals?
Not everyone is playing assassins, that statement is clearly false. It only takes 1 guy not playing an assassin to make it false, and LoL has the largest player-base of any game in the world ATM if I'm not mistaken.
In the last normal game you played there were: Tanks, Fighters, Assassins, Marksman, Mages, and Supports.
If you phrased the question "why are assassins more popular than other classes in normals?" you might have something.
Which could easily be answered by assassins naturally being the flashiest class in the game, what with being the most mobile and KDR reliant, attracting players struggling with appreciating more subtle displays of champion power. Generally speaking their flashy strengths lend themselves specifically to good 1v1 potential, the capacity to easily punish mistakes, and awful team-fight potential - 3 things which clearly favor the yoloqueue mentality, especially when contrasted to ranked 5x5.
Then again - assassins are the most flashy class in the game, so you might just be getting distracted by the flashyness, overlooking the classes with more subtle displays of their power :P
Normals are for people to: Play new champions Experiment with builds Try new strategies Play any champion without criticism or just, not play ranked because they don't wanna.
Personally, I play assassins because they are fun for me. That simple.
Assassins have a dynamic, high pace playstyle that a lot of people enjoy.
Also they're very good at snowballing and carrying games which is ideal for solo queue.
