Regarding Champion Mastery
Does Riot have any plans for Champion Mastery, or is it just going to go the way of the Honor system; cool for a while then just blending into the background?
I really feel like Riot missed an opportunity to make it something really awesome with the Chroma system rather than Champion Mastery just being some mediocre system that doesn't do a lot, it would give players who don't want to spend money on skins to feel like they're actually getting something for being dedicated to a champ (or multiple champions), instead of some pretty meh emote and a symbol that only your team can see and only in the loading screen.
I understand that making a few chromas for every champion in the game would be a lot of effort but on a similar note, as I've said before here I don't think charging RP for them was the right idea. It shows how gullible the community is that they actually believed Riot when they said that RP was just a "temporary method" while they tested the waters, we're half a year down the track now and oh look they're still purchasable only with RP. I'm not surprised, are you? I think IP would have been a much better idea for Chromas, we really do need an IP sink in this game for the players who've been playing for a long time, and a lot of Chromas are for skins only purchasable through RP anyway. It's just greedy.
But this thread is about Champion Mastery, not Chromas, woops. A very popular suggestion that has been requested since the game came out which would tie in very nicely to the Champion Mastery system is, of course, Champion summoner icons. I honestly don't know why Riot hasn't implemented this. The necessary files are already there, the icons used ingame are the same format and I believe even dimensions as summoner icons and it would be an extremely simple matter to tie them into Mastery.
I don't really expect Riot to reply to this thread (since they, understandably, prefer to not talk about upcoming things too much in case they don't work out (see: replay system)), but I wanted to make it anyway, even just a "We're working on something, but no promises" would be nice.
