You remember that you are allowed to play this great game for free, and they just created a cool idea that we didn't have before? Buy it if you like, don't buy it if you don't want it. No one is forcing you.
While I understand the logic you're putting forward, there's no reason people shouldn't be able to express how they feel about this feature release. It's optional content, yes, but it can still feel manipulative to the consumer.
This particular example is Riot's first foray into the world of forced bundling/tying, and it's not well regarded as being a particularly consumer-friendly tactic. Think about cable companies bundling all their prime channels together even though you just want Discovery or ESPN. No one is forcing you to pay for it, but it's still not a particularly great feeling to be buying that service.
People are allowed to express their opinions.

I kinda wanna point out, we had palette swaps way back when Riot was a new company. Some really cool ones too. Most of them are legacy now due to not meeting Riot's current standards.
And they're expecting us to pay more (albeit slightly) for palette swaps of lesser quality.
While people responding are correct, i think its great people are expressing their opinions on the manner, the one thing people need to remember is that its not mandatory for these skins. Plus anything can happen with these Chroma packs. for all we know sooner or later they will be released with champion mastery, or go on sale from time to time. people get worked up for small things and i dont think its fair! it just got released let see where it goes from there before going all crazy!
