How did your Provisionals go?

I have a friend who just got their first account to level 30, and is about to start their provisionals, but they are legit freaking out.

So I thought I'd make this thread so she can see how everyone else did. SO if you would be so kind, please tell me the outcome of your first ever provisional games (how many you won and where you were seeded)

If they are a new level 30, I wouldn't really recommend going into ranked straight away. I'd recommend that they play at least 100 normal games after they have reached level 30 before considering ranked. This gives them more time to learn champions, matchup, decision making, and general mechanics in preparation. In addition, it will let her fill out her champion pool and rune pages.

If she is insistent on playing her provisionals, then I ended up going 6-4 and got placed in Silver 3. It wasn't too bad; I got fed and carried several games, got carried a couple games, and had my team feed or afk for a couple games. I wouldn't worry about it too much since it isn't really that hard to beat silver players and raise your rank.

Should never jump into ranked right away when you hit 30 that's something I learned. Mine were pretty bad. I believe it was like 3-7 and I was placed Bronze 5

I have a couple accounts.

Last season this account was Gold IV. Just did placements last week and was placed in Gold V after going 7/3.

Last season my backup account was Silver II. Did placements as soon as ranked was up, got placed in Silver IV. 6/4

Bf was Silver V last season. Got placed in Bronze II. 6/4

Don't do it. seriously unless they are one of the few incredibly skilled players going into ranked immediately at 30 is a horrible idea. Honestly they are likely not ready yet to get anything past b5 once they get a few matches done after the provisional matches. I've been down that road already and it wasn't a fun trip.

But to be quite honest b5 has had some of the more enjoyable games for me. and it's a bit of a dick way to think but being down there you can see what kind of mistakes to try to not make. You learn but you lose a hell of a lot.

And to be quite honest ranked and normal matches really aren't all that different in the low elos. I've seen people trying harder in normal games than in any of my ranked games. If you insist on rushing into ranked then play what you know and play it the way you play it best. ranked is not the time to experiment.

One last note. Please practice every role before going into ranked. There are already enough people down here who suck at any role other than one and possibly two. Better to be mediocre in all roles than great in one and never get to play it.

If you are fresh 30 and haven't played Ranked in a previous season you will likely be placed into bronze 1 / silver 4.

One thing you have to accept when you play league is to accept that you're shit at this game because there are 50 million players who play a better game than you do.

(Thats how i got diamond)
