People saying overwatch is going to kill league

Just recently read that the Warcraft movie was hugely popular in China due to our chinese overlord Tencent. If anything, this makes me thinks they see no competition from Blizzard. Why promote another company's movie about one of their games?. Because they're not competing for market share when they're two different genres and the billion dollar company with all of it's research came to that conclusion.

Yes but Blizzard's direct competition to League is not Overwatch, it's Heroes of the Storm, of which League has already beaten in terms of popularity. Overwatch and League, to reuse a cliche, are apples and oranges. They're completely different genres and they draw from completely different player bases. One game, League, pulls from the PC heavy, strategy intent gamers. The other, Overwatch, pulls from the console crowd who love shooter games. There will be some overlap, I admit because I play some Overwatch, but I'm terms of Overwatch overthrowing League, that will never happen. Overwatch matches are blisteringly fast and the strategy revolves around "Can I take that point head on, or should I go around?" and in all honesty it doesn't come close to the level of strategic fulfillment that you get with League. There's just no comparison between the two games because of the utterly different niches they fill.

you are right, people switch over to overwatch because of the hype made of it from streamers, yet people do not realise it's an entirely different game. And saying it isn't flawed like league is just naive as any game is flawed when you get a better understanding of the game.

if anything overwatch is competing with cod/BF/TF2/CSGO

I know overwatch isnt a direct competitor i just noticed a lot of posts about how its going to kill league. I tried HoTS before ever playing league because i was a blizzard fanboy for the longest time and couldnt even play it. It was like they made a moba out of their RTS and it was worse than the custom games frozen thrones used to have

Hmm u should give it a try again.

I play HoTS whenever I feel like 1v5 ing scrubs because even high ranked HoTS players play at like a Wood 5 leauge level.

First thing. League is getting old and people are looking for something different. Overwatch gives it. Second thing. League is gettin ill. The illness of unbalance is destroying this game so hard, and so much. Riot is too slow to improve balance. 3rd thing. Servers and stability situation, new brillant ideas of riot and the forced changes are goin to kill this game.

What do you define as a forced change? Lol all the people saying riot is forcing change on them like they're entitled to having the game their way is just a moot point. You're playing an evolving game that's free. League isn't Ill at all imo and if it were losing even a little money they would revert the changes. Big companies will revert shit just because they make less of a profit from one quarter to the next so I do not believe for a minute they're losing anything

By forced changes i mean changes without time. Without preparation, without proper tests on proper testing server. Look all those OP comes in life last time. Look this new trinity that is so op. Already they are testing changes on live server. PBE is not for balance, but for bugs. Its sad that they experiment on us.
