Nothing against the game, I've just become a lot busier as of late. When i have a free half hour+ the first thing league related I do now is check the universe page. Hats off to the lore team.

Consider this a tinfoil hat theory buuuuuuut...
Months ago Riot said they wanted League to be around forever. Which is laughable. The longest lasting SINGLE game we have right now is CS:GO with DOTA2 coming in second place. Both, at most, have been around for nearly two decades. Riot saying League will be around for 50 is the equivalent to pointing at the moon and saying you're going for a home run.
However, Riot realized they now have an IP to the scale of Warcraft or Starcraft. People know this game and lvoe it, even if they don't enjoy the gameplay. In doubling down on lore, they're building the world for the eventual "death" of League that happens when they have to move on. However, this means that the IP will still exist and that they can continue making league products. After all, a lot of people dislike the MOBA genre.
Agreed. They are really talented.
I used to be someone who never once played the game. I learned about it around early S2, gave zero shits about the game itself and memorized every single scrap of lore out there. Then decided to start playing in 5.18. AAAAND now im back to just lore hunting xD

I'm trying to be super excited about lore, but I feel bad that I'm not anymore. I loved the old lore, and the new lore is really good too, if not better in some cases. The problem is I loved the old lore, then they removed it, then waited how many years to start really going now? Something like 2 years with a mostly empty lore hole to fill.
Sadly in that time I fell out of love with the lore and just stopped caring. Is nice that it is here now, but sadly I sort of stopped wanting it anymore after the 2 years span of barely anything but a one-paragraph bleh.
