"Oh, its JUST normals/ARAM."

Am I the only one who hates people who say that?

  1. I try my best to win in any game mode.
  2. I dont see why "ranked" is so special. Big whoop your progress is tracked. But unless you are planning on getting to challenger and joining a professional team, why do you try harder in ranked?
  3. Is it really an excuse to play worse/troll/etc. in normals just because there's a "competitive" game mode? (That is not THAT special, as emphasized above)

Normals are really, for the most part, to mess around after you hit level 30.. Some people don't like the ranked system, but in reality it's the exact same thing except it tracks your progress, which is why it's so encouraged to win in ranked... People don't care much if they lose in normal because it doesn't cost them anything (such as LP in ranked). Being in competitive play is actually a big deal, for most people at least. It's extremely looked down on if you want to try, say a new champion in ranked. That's what normal are for. Honestly, what's 1 extra loss when your progress isn't being tracked??

Solution: If you think that's a load of crap and you don't want to see "It's just normal," Play ranked. If you think ranked isn't so special, then why are you complaining and not just playing ranked where you literally won't ever see the phrase "Oh, it's just normal/ARAM?"

Normals **is actually **an excuse to play worse. How else would you be able to try new roles or champions?

Everyone is different , for example I am well aware of the fact that the more I win in any game mode - my chances of getting competent team members and oponents increases . So if you try hard and win a lot , you'll get to the try hard level eventually in ANY game mode . What i'm saying is , don't get discouraged by people who don't take the game as seriously as yourself and stop paying any attention to them for your own good .

I play normals to relieve stress, or just to get away from the cancer that plagues all my ranked games. I try to win, but I don't go full-on tryhard mode.

So when I'm trying to relax a little, the last thing I need is people on my team raging at me for trying a new champ/build/whatever.

A game is a game, whether it's ranked or not. Not everyone treats it the same way.

I think Riot should include queue preferences for people who wish to play to the best of their competitive ability and people who are more interested in messing around, but you can't really bash people for messing around because this honestly is just a game and in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter as long as they're having fun.

I, for one, am planning to try to get to the LCS. Normals to me are for the pure purpose of having fun and leaving the world of the meta, doing such things as triple hook top, messing around with friends, or just playing a champion I'm not particularly great at. Ranked I play to win, Normals I play to enjoy.

Yes, it really is an excuse lol. Normals/ARAM is just to fuck around. I do NOT try my best to win in any game mode. Sorry dude. No, you're not the only one that hates it, but just like all the others, you take the irrelevant games way too seriously.

Well it IS just normals orARAMs. No reason to stress out about those games, no need to even stress out about ranked games. They are games. I will always try my best to win, but if i'm not playing a champ i know well or i'm playing one i literally bought 20 minutes before....well don't expect much.

I actually don't play many normals because of how many people are bad, not because of how many people don't care. I don't care if they don't care, it bothers me when people do stupid stuff. No matter how bad you are at a champion you shouldn't be fighting without vision, split pushing with ur support sona, or sitting in a warded bush lol. When people bitch in ARAMs tho, or tryhard in ARAMs...lol gtfo

I play normals to try out new champs, I find it hilarious when my team criticizes me for losing lane to a Gold/Plat player just because I'm D5. Like hello, it's a normal and I'd like to try a new role/champion. I still try my best, but it's nothing like ranked.

Renlen!

I totally agree. My case is even more hard luck than yours. I'm older and when I get off work I like to kill fools in the simplest way possible. My answer for that kind of fun is ARAM. I could give 2 shits about ranked. I have no aspirations to live the dream of ESports Champion. I don't care to hone my skills to a Diamond level. I just want to queue up and kill the enemy. That's fun for me. It's no one's place to judge or understand. But ARAM and Dominion don't hold the same magic for me as they used to. Partially because of Bots, but partially because of this attitude that pervades throughout the community against the casual player. In my case, the EXtremely casual player. Trolls, leavers, people who steal all the HP's when they are full health. Why? Are you all 12 years old? I'll tell you what's getting old besides me...this community and it's attitude about anything not ranked!
