And how is chicago centralized when it's clearly in the eastern side of the country. I live in the Seattle area this server transfer is doing nothing but swapping ping between coast to coast.
The amount you are losing is nothing compared to what the East coast is gaining. The ping is not just swapping. At 70 ms you're still half of what they have been playing with, so now the extreme ends are much closer and the playing field far more even.
Trying to argue they should stay 100+ ms so you can keep your 25 is just pure childish greed.
You go up to a very playable 70 ping, while many parts of the East Coast go down to ~50-ish. Seems reasonable to me.
And Chicago is centralized because it's a major internet backbone hub. Do an image search for "Internet backbone map USA" and take a look - Chicago is in the center of everything, with near-direct optical connections to pretty much every other backbone city in the nation.
Geographical location isn't nearly as important to data speeds as the number of "hops" a packet has to make to get from point A to point B.

i was up to 160 or higher ping, right now i'm sitting at a very comfortable 72-80. I live on the east coast and i'm thankful for riot giving me a chance, to play on equal terms with everyone else for a change instead of lagging behind. the fact that you don't want the playing field to be equal speaks volumes to your character you're a greedy mf, and you don't like the fact that east coast players have better ping.

Do your research before you speak. You have no idea what you're talking about. I won't re-has the good points already made in the comments, I'll just pop in to say that they're right and you better get used to 70. I play with 100+ all the time. That's acceptable ping.
70 ping is lower than most east coasters had ever seen.
east coasters aren't getting 25-35, midwesterners are. east coasters are getting 40-60.
There are better routes from west coast to Chicago than there are from east coast to say, Denver. It's just the way it is.
People on West Coast get 40-50 ping to Chicago on average. If you're getting 70 ping then it's because your ISP is shitty.
I mean sure, it might have been better to move it to Kansas City or something to get the best possible balance, but I'm sure Riot had their reasoning.
I know for a fact that Chicago has pretty good internet infrastructure, so maybe it's the most "central" city that's least likely to have lag spikes from all the additional traffic. Would you rather have lower ping with EUW-style lag spikes or would you rather have slightly higher ping that's stable? I'd personally pick the stable higher ping every time.
Unless you're Challenger, 70 ping is going to have very little effect on your gameplay. Maybe a few things like ward hops are going to be a little harder, but if people from OCE could ward hop on 250 ping when we were on your servers, then you can cope with 70 ping.
Yesterday evening, I played a game and my ping was 200-300. Haha. How I have a kda of 10/9/16 ? I don't know. 3 deaths was probably due to lagg since I froze in teamfight.
Now, I am eager to see what it will be to have normal pings on evenings. ^^
And sorry but I don't want the servor to move to Kansas City or somewhere in the mid-west where tornados are common. Yeah, we can't play League of Legends anymore because the servor been destroy by a tornado. XD

I have to say that the ping has been fine so far in Nevada. My ping went from 45 to 90 but I have done fine in games so far today.
