Why do I keep getting hit with chat restrictions even though I don't use the Chat box in game?

I literally don't use the chat box in game. I mean I may type in GG or GJ at one point or another, but otherwise I don't chat in game. I've actually moved the chat box off my screen now since I don't need the chat time stamp for Dragon timers anymore. I don't really understand how I keep getting hit with chat restrictions when I literally don't talk in the game. No the chat restriction doesnt bother me because I don't talk in game, but Why exactly do I keep getting chat restricted when I don't say anything?

What the hell is going on?

Since you moved the box away, people are probably frantically trying to communicate with you in chat and you're unresponsive. You don't have to reply in chat, but replying with pings and actions is probably what you need to be doing.

We all understand the need to escape toxic rants, but muting specific people is probably better than ignoring everyone forever.

I use only pings in game. Muting people and hiding the chat box accomplishes pretty much the same thing. Im on voicechat with my premade team mates. I have no reason to even look at the chat box and I don't have to waste my time muting people or seeing their behavior that could negatively affect me.

Some players may type out specific information for strategy or builds, e.g.;

Summoner 1: Sivir, go bot and keep split pushing Summoner with no chat (Sivir): no response, goes mid Summoner 1: Sivir please, we're about to get Baron. We need them wasting time on the other side of the map. pings for Sivir to retreat Summoner with no chat (Sivir): no response, goes top

-Entire enemy team meets Sivir in top and is now in position to deny Baron-

Summoner 2 [All]: report Siv pls, trolling and not communicating Summoner 1: Good idea. I hate toxic people.

This is a very believable scenario, and I hope you can understand why chat communication allows for better team play if used properly.

League of Legends is a team game, and, as such, familiarity and rapport with the other competitors with whom you play is going to be a big part of your success. With that in mind, it would behoove you to adopt a cordial demeanor and attempt to make friends. If you have fun playing with another player, make use of the end of game lobby to thank that player for the game and send a friend request. The more friendly players that you have at your disposal, the better your chances are of getting a good, friendly game. Also, if you have friends who you think might be a good fit for the game and community, don't hesitate to shoot them an invite. Not only will you earn yourself some awesome swag, you'll have more friends you can call upon when you're having trouble flying solo.

Use the tools at your disposal to try and build a circle of other players of a similar skill level. If you have a relationship with a group of players that you trust, you are much more likely to get good feedback on how you're playing, receive support when learning a new champion, and just have a good time overall.

Supposedly, nobody has been punished for not chatting. Perhaps the restrictions are from a bit older games that have been reviewed?

If you play through them and still get restricted, then you are getting reported. Is your attitude in the games bothering others?

That would be because people are reporting you for not communicating. (Ping or no Ping) This is a team game and if you're not wanting to communicate with your whole team then...well I don't know what to tell you. Other people bring new ideas to the table and you might meet new people you really worked well with if you'd just write them back when they are giving ideas or asking questions in chat.

I can't stand playing a team game where the majority of us are on the same page, working together than there's at LEAST one guy who never writes back and is NOT doing what the team needs- only what he needs.
