Real reason afks wont ever be fixed

in short, they dont want to fix the "tribunal/automated punishment system/w.e its called we got now"

there is only 2 reasons riot wont put into place if someone afks that nobody loses points 1- because people could duo and if losing the duo just leaves 2-they dont want people harassing someone to the point they leave

this is imo dumb for 2 reasons 1-you're trying to tell me you couldnt flag someone who has been either duoing with afks constantly or in alot of games with afks to try and track these people? you would have to do it alot to be climbing to anything serious and there def can be a red flag that goes off after so many in so many games

2- isnt harassing people against the rules? and isnt there a mute button?

to make it simple, if people actually got punished for harassing people and afking this wouldnt be a problem for one simple reason ((((if you afk or harass people, you get banned.....simple as that, youll either play one game and ruin it then not play again for a certain amount of time, or you just wont break the rules and afk or harass people)))))))

(to all those who dont support punishing afkers, chances are you probably afk yourself and dont want a punishment but honestly you need one.Honestly there is no good reason to NOT punish afk players......grandma died? then a ban on your account shouldnt be your concern and it shouldnt happen often...same goes with power outages or other "emergencies"....and if it is happening often, you shouldnt be playing anyway because often you would be afk.)

its literally as simple as that, why is this still a problem?

The Tribunal doesn't deal with afks. Like, at all.

There's a whole different system (called Leaverbuster) that handles them.

No. I didn't. And while I was aware of the misspellings, I thought it would be rude to bring them up. I can give it a quick edit for typos if you like, though.

I figured, however, since you seemed unaware of just how quickly this new system takes place, and how it functions, and how ridiculously effective it's been at reducing intentional afks, you may not have heard of it. My apologies for underestimating you so.

it could still be a trouble. Plus whose to say (with the first reason) that its the same people queuing together? ive seen people with a lot of people on their friends list. they could easily just find someone else, then who is to say that said person left because they were told to? they could have connection problem, or real life problem! its really hard to find people who are legitimate doing stuff like that.

I mean im with you in that we need to punish AFK/leavers/trolls/etc, but there has to be a better way that cannot be easily abused, or else we will see too much people here complaining that they got wrongfully accused of duoing with someone who kept dodging, or what not.

it wouldnt be trouble

if your friend, duo you always play with, etc is always having a connection problem they shouldnt be playing

if your duo is going afk to the point its happening often and flags the system, point blank you shouldnt be playing

btw how can you be wrongfully accused of duoing?you either duo and you dont.....and how would this be abused?

main points to remember about what i said -harassing is against the rules -afking is against the rules (regardless of reason, hence where it says make sure you have time to play before you join games,esp ranked) -if your constantly having problems/emergencies that is forcing you to afk, you shouldnt be playing

not only those but from what i said -you harass people, you get punished, aka your not playing anymore till you get your chet str8 -same goes for afks -and a system would be in place where you get flagged after so many duo's and them afking.... (now sure, you could possibly duo with say 3 different people and all of them afk...which mind you would be very rare unless its on purpose.....but im not saying 3, this number could be say 10....if your duoing ranked, and you duo with even 10 different people and they all afk....sorry but thats no longer coincidence and thats intention (keep in mind if they were often afking they wouldnt be playing anyways for breaking the rules)

i dont find this abusable, it would be pretty obvious when someone is doing this....you have to keep in mind, if your afking then your breaking the rules...doesnt matter why....and if its anywhere close to often then you shouldnt be playing in the first place because either your just ruining the game for everyone, or your ruining it for everyone and trying to cheat the system

either way, worthy of a ban and if people are banned for breaking the rules they have 2 choices 1-dont break the rules and play the game or 2- get punished for breaking the rules and sit out of games till you realize you cant play because you have constant "emergencies" and cant play through a whole game (keep in mind you ruin 9 other people game everytime you afk)

honestly if you're even debating on the side of not punishing afks, you either dont play with them enough to care or you afk yourself and dont want to be punished

it has nothing to do with abuse, because like i just said, an easy system can be put in place to find those "abusing" it

(btw how could you "abuse" the system if you werent duoing with someone? your gonna get a random person to leave for you? phat chance and plus if the random person does he will be punished for afk so id bet money he wouldnt do that again for a total stranger.... you would have to duo together to even abuse this, and that would be easy to track)

^keep in mind, it doesnt have to be the same person either accounting smurf accounts etc, if they game looks and sees you played 20 games and your duo left 10.....thats shady af and there is no excuse and such a SLIM chance that they all had an emergency right when they played with you....by slim i mean almost impossible, esp considering you would get banned for afking in the first place

again how would this be abusable?

is it really? look at the percentage of games they are in that involve an afk on their team, if they duo often and the afks on their team are significantly above average you have them.
