Disclaimer: This is not a great idea, it's a brilliant idea

Who hasn't ever wanted this option before? Sure we could all mute the player by ourselves but what better way to let the toxic player know he's being toxic than a live vote being cast like a surrender vote for muting a player. Possibly if you are voted to be muted by X% of your games you will be suspended from chat for a period of time.

Sure you can think of a million things wrong with this but who cares you are now voted to be muted

Upvote to mute OP.

There is a vote to mute option. It's called reporting until they get a chat restriction.

Instead of people silently telling someone "I'd rather risk failing to communicate than listening to you one more second" we're instead going to say "You're naughty, everyone vote with me to send him to the corner!" I can't think of a more hostile and negative way to enforce player behavior... this would be as bad as people vote kicking others out of a lobby. What rationale thinking human wouldn't be outraged? Not too mention pre-mades could troll someone... vote mute them... and then an innocent player gets PENALIZED?

If you don't like someone, just mute them, you don't need to make an announcement about it or ask your team to mute them......Unless you're one salty asshole.
