Riot has come a looong way!
(this post is nothing but sharing some of the oldest LoL emails and creations by rito and appreciating it) I finally recovered my oldest gmail account which led me to my first LoL account. After reading of all of the emails I've received from riot, it's obvious riot has come a very long way.
LoL ACCEPTANCE "Congratulations on your acceptance into the League of Legends! The time has come to prove yourself in battle! Summon powerful champions, hone your skill, and go head to head with other summoners in the greatest competition in Valoran. " - 4/29/11 (season 1)

HOWLING ABYSS "The Howling Abyss - The community favorite ARAM mode has been incorporated into matchmaking and given a map all its own"
SMART PINGS "Smart ping - Our new smart ping system makes it easier to communicate to your teammates when you're on your way, an enemy is missing, danger, or when you need help"
LoL CREDENTIALS CRISIS "The security of your information is critically important to us, so we're really sorry to share that a portion of our North American account information was recently compromised.
What we know: user names, email addresses, salted password hashes, and some first and last names were accessed. This means that the password files are unreadable, but players with easily guessable passwords are vulnerable to account theft.
Additionally, we are investigating that approximately 120,000 transaction records from 2011 that contained hashed and salted credit card numbers have been accessed. We are taking appropriate action to notify and safeguard affected players. We will be contacting these players via the email addresses currently associated with their accounts to alert them. Our investigation is ongoing and we will take all necessary steps to protect players."
Salty people can just consider themselves lucky that their accounts are kept safe and that riot is still listening to one of the biggest game playerbase in the world. Back then league was really small so riot would always do everything to keep us happy since they knew what we wanted. They can't do that anymore because you will either need over 50% of the playerbase to ask for the same thing and the playerbase is waaaay too huge. If you are talking balance changes, they are doing actually better than you'd expect. They have over millions of people to listen to, million of ideas that negate each other and they still find the right way to do it, and if they mess up, they just revert and try again, sometimes they might not admit that they messed up but they don't really mess up intentionally.
