Hextech Crafting and my current mastery points

If you gain Hex tech crafting stuff based on Mastery points you gain does that include the points i already have? Because as of right now i currently have: 278 Mastery Score that's A lot of points i would be scared i would be missing out on for the Hextech Crafting

i think it gives them to you since you as ive seen some people on the PBE talking about it im not 100% sure though
