Why Don't People Who Place Higher Than Gold Get Extra Rewards?

Considering Gold 5 allows you to get all rewards (Minus the borders) that Platinum and Diamond allow you to get there's no reason to achieve past Gold 5 except for yourself. I am currently Plat 2 hopefully Diamond in 1 weeks time but I find it a little sad that your only reward is self achievement. Maybe a mystery skin, chroma pack or even skin discounts for like 1 week should be rewarded to those Plat or higher, that I think would be appropriate for the people that put the time and effort to climb higher than Gold and also gives people more initiative to try and climb higher.

Because everyone has to feel special and its not fair for one group to get something when another doesn't. See their stance on RP purchase rewards. (Paraphrased: we're not doing it because the people who havent spent RP will feel bad)

Silvers and Bronze players don't get the Victorious Skin so how is that a group not feeling special?

I just don't see why that reward is required. Many players are able to get to Gold yet it's still considered somewhat of an achievement, and this is why Riot felt it's the best spot to draw the line at the more involved ranked rewards. It's a competitive game, the reason higher ranks exist is that Riot wants to encourage that competition.

Adding superfluous rewards can actually detract from the feeling of accomplishment people get from ascending the ranks, and if you don't feel it's worth doing then you certainly don't have to.

A reward for going above Gold 5 isn't superfluous it's simply to show that you're rewarded for you work. Gold 5 is quite easy to attain, Plat + is not.

For Plat+ you get the pure achievement of knowing you're in the top x percentage of League of Legends players as well as increasing levels of epeen and cooler borders/banners. I like these rewards, personally, and if I didn't dislike the ranked system so much I'd definitely be pursuing them.

They're thinking chroma packs. It makes no business sense that riot would give you a mystery skin or even discounts. I mean you do get the border, invite icon and summoner icon... which is everything other than the skin (which everyone g+ gets), it's not really self-achievement.

I mean higher tiers get 3/4 of the possible rewards tailored exclusively to them.
