Thoughts on A Nerf

I mainly play Zyra..I won't say I "main" her because I'm a noob and I am not good enough to "main" anything, but I am very concerned about the upcoming nerfs to her - nerfs which seem like nothing more than a knee-jerk reaction to her sudden popularity in the Pro scene.

I have been playing mainly Zyra for the past year and absolutely nothing has changed about her except that she has become more popular. She has become popular as support because pros play her as support, but when I began playing her I usually got raged at for picking Zyra support because she was thought of as a mid. I can assure everyone, she certainly is not "OP" in low elo. Far from it.

In short, just because pro players are capable of doing fancy things with champions doesnt mean they should be nerfed for the majority of the community, most of whom are bronze/ silver players just trying to learn basic mechanics without having to worry about their favorite champion being nerfed because some pro player like Lemonnation plays a mean version of their favorite champion (in this case, Zyra).

pro play is a good gauge on the actual power level of certain champion, like what they can do at their full potential. Pro players are very much so beacons for riot at finding the op champions in the game, making it easier for riot to nerf them.

They aren't nerfing her just because the pro players are doing something fancy with her. They are nerfing her because she has too much power in her kit and the pro players just know how to use it to its maximum potential and are abusing it in their games. Riot has said before that the game is more balanced around the pro/competitive scene than it is the casual/non-competitive scene. Although they have balanced on the low-level scene before (RIP Darius), it isn't very common at all. Balance is more directed at champions that can be played in a certain fashion to make them more powerful than another champion.
