Hey I was wondering if anyone can provide some feedback on laning against Illaoi. So far my experiences against her have either ended with me shutting her down by killing her 4 times in lane (followed by her stomping me soon after six), or her stomping me through the whole game. Even when behind by 20-30 cs and down 4 kills she builds pure damage (usually BC first) and is still so tanky she just laughs off your damage while her tentacles just smash your face in. You can avoid her skillshots fairly easily but the moment she lands a single e then she can practically 100-0 you.

If you have any tips on what I should be building against her I'd love to hear it because I could certainly use some help. It seems building damage against her and killing her does nothing, but at the same time when I build tanky she still out-trades me because she doesn't need to build tank to be tanky. I am just at a loss here and hopefully someone here can help other than "haha git good, learn 2 dodge." because like I said, as soon as one e lands you you're screwed. You have to either jump on her to reduce the time of the ghost (she all ins you and you die), or try to run and become a vessel and be owned by tentacles (you die).

I have also noticed the hitboxes on the tentacles seem extremely inaccurate, mostly next the wall where you champion can be completely outside of the box but still takes tons of damage.

P.S one important note here is that my junglers never gank due to her 1 v 2 potential scaring them off. This may be the root of my problem, not getting help early enough.

Tl;dr How do you beat Illaoi in lane? Which champions do best? Is she actually broken or not?

I have a REAL BIG problem facing Illaoi. I never complain and post about how broken champs may be but Illaoi NEEDS to be fixed. I just faced with cho and I just cant seem to kill her (EX. At level 7, i gave her 2 stuns, 1 silence and an ult when she had half hp while I have full hp, and her and her 1 tentacle still destroyed me PLUS she didnt even use her ult). She had no damage and mostly Armor and MR, and yet she owned us in a 3v1 (her being one lvl 14?) fight when she had 2/3hp and us three had full hp (I had 5 stacks). her ult gave her 3 tentacles plus 2 extra that was there and with her 5 (poss 6 ) tentacles, we got destroyed... Illaoi is tooo broken. She doesn't even need dmg and because her tentacles are just too powerful. ANNNNNNND her Soul grab is just ridiculous, CD is ridiculously short for that kind of function, and it near impossible to escape that without having our soul destroyed.. once in that kraken world, u cant tp home cuz a tentacle will summon during recall, its hard to fight since there will be atleast 2 tentacles summoned during the fight PLUS the ones illaoi will make... u cant do anything but run away completely to the fountain. ITS RIDCULOUS! LASTLY ive been carefully watching its range with her smash and her tentacle smash, and its ridiculously inaccurate... meaning I would stand quite a bit away from its given range and it would still damage me. I know many champ skills can be like that but this.... this is beyond acceptable. I Get SO MAD at LOL when I see Illaoi at play.

In response to you, heres the thing... She doesn't need damage and can still cause bloody massive damage with all her tanky items... She doesn't need to be tanky and can still survive a heavy fight with quite a bit of dmg items.. Her E CD eventually becomes ridiculously short later on, but even one is enough to ruin your play. Honestly.. Illaoi NEEDS TO BE FIXED because it is seriously ruining my game experience. Even the player who used Illaoi was saying he totally agrees how broken this champ is. Shes tanky, High dmg, ridiculous skills, and not Gankable?? This is too much, I really don't post anything but this needs to be said and IF anyone knows a way to formally complaint about this please let me know.

I wrote a big post explaining how to play against Illaoi. Go read up if you want to; it's a long read though.

In short though, just keep moving, and you win. Treat her tentacles like Heimer turrets.
