Ever since the end of season 3 ive seen way more feeders and afkers but i expected that during the preseason. Now the new season has started and ive gotten more losses from dcers and loss preventions in 2 weeks then i did the whole season 3. Is their any timeline when they will be fixed for more then 2 days so i know i can go into a game without worrying about some random lag or my teammates lagging out for no reason?
:/ I see a lot of people complaining right now, and I don't blame you guys. But multiple games for the past month have been dealing with DDOS attacks continuously. All the money in the world can't change the fact that no one could be prepared for this. There techniques change all the time with how they try to attack. I would be pretty certain that this is one of those new techniques. So people, give riot some patients and they should be able to fix the attack. Hell, they might be able to trace the guy and get some vengeance, that would be pretty nice ^-^
An unknown number of unknown people of various ages with an unknown amount of resources have been executing DDoS attacks on League of Legends servers.
For brevity - a DDoS attack is, in its most simplified form; a massive amount of ping requests made to a server. I'm talking inexplicably large numbers of requests made. This is also why the client says "Over 20000" players are waiting in the queue.
These people send requests to log-in at such great volume and rate that servers are backlogged and eventually flooded with fake 'requests' to play LoL.
"Why do they do that?", you might ask...
They are anonymous. They are legion.
These kinds of people are beyond the scope of morals and reason; they are afflicted with a cognitive dissonance somehow related to a disagreement with a number of societal institutions. Among them are big businesses with a profit motive, a group of whom Riot Games is a part of.
Not every participant is truly anonymous. But when enough people convince themselves that they are doing something different, and that something is better...
That's when counterculture becomes a paradigm shift.
It's called a DDOS people..
Edit: It literally isn't Riot's fault. They have programs protecting their servers from being hacked but that program can not protect itself.

They have to deal with that.

DDOS attacks? I'm not sure what that is. If they have a bug or something I understand but that's not the problem, the problem is them letting people continue playing instead of shutting down for awhile and fixing it, I'd rather not be able to play for a few days then continuously be kicked from matches and have terrible lag.

What does DDOS even think it's accomplishing by messing with the servers? They are basically just rude trolls who are good at hacking.
So riot is under attack again? Why can't they protect themselves i personally have paid riot more money than effin netflix a month yet they can't be prepared.... They better fix this or I will go back to spending my disposable income on idk xbox one.
I was in a game then it lagged out and I got dc'ed and now i cant play league anymore. Every time I log in it ways you have left a game in progress please reconnect. Cmon riot next time you make me lag out this hard I better be getting rp or I'm not playing this game anymore!
Love how this lame excuse for a company riot implements a loss prevention system that doesn't actually work because they take their sweet ass time trying to turn it on. That must be one large button to push because it seems to take them 30mins to turn on. This is the second time this week i got a loss that my team dced from and the other team ended. If your going to have a system to prevent losses please learn how to use it.
Dear Riot, Lags and disconnects are still happening; no loss prevented in ranked games. Just played a game with 4 afk's and it still counted as a defeat. Issue has been addressed, but with little effort to inform your users of the status, many of us are left wondering how long this will continue. Losing faith, Riot.
