She's the third kind; sustained damage. Poke ADCs never want to engage, just bully you from range (Caitlyn, Varus). Burst ADCs want to engage on you, blow all their skills, and then back off before you can respond (Corki, Lucian). Champions like Draven, Kalista, and Vayne are sustained damage ADCs; they want to engage and then auto you for as long as humanly possible.

I'm mainly asking so I know what kind of support champs would go well with each type of adc.

Oh. The very general idea is that poke champions work well with poke or sustain supports who can either add to the lane's poke (Karma) or let them do it for longer (Soraka). Burst champions work with poke or engage supports, champions who can either harass from a distance before their ADC goes in (Lulu) or go in and lay the smack down with them (Leona). Finally, sustained champions work well with engage or sustain supports who can either heal the ADC up after heavy trades (Taric) tor hold the enemy's arms back while the ADC beats them up (Morgana). Obviously this is a VERY loose description, and there are plenty of supports that don't fit into these categories (Nami, for example).

Kalista is a sustained damage champion, so you'll probably want to be looking at engage or sustain supports. In Kalista's case specifically, what with her ult, you want a support who loves being in the thick of things; I can recommend Annie, Leona, and Nautilus.

Would pullers like Blitzcrank and Thresh be considered an engage support?

I'd say so, yes. They don't offer sustain or poke like other supports: their job is get the party started and invite the enemy ADC.
