What ever happened to Rising Thunder and does Riot plan to bring it back or bring a new one?

Rising Thunder was a fighting game made by Radiant Entertainment and directed by Tom Bannon. It went into a technical alpha which I very much enjoyed in August of 2015. The studio and all assets of the game are now owned by Riot and players of Rising Thunder have heard nothing about the game since it's shut down. Does Riot plan to ever bring this game back out under their new management or will there be a new fighting game made in it's place? Coming from fighting games like Street Fighter and Tekken, I very much enjoyed this game as it simplified the special moves you would use in fighting games like SF and King of Fighters while giving an entertaining competitive experience. It would be great to hear from a source at Riot Games relaying the state of the game.
