Another Skarner rework that on release is god tier broken followed by him being useless woo!

Honestly, I don't get why he has 3% max mana per second regeneration inside the auras. How about instead, he has 0 mana cost? This means his combat outside of them sticks to his mana bar, but he has full combat potential inside of them, rather than he can fight easily outside of them, then run back in and top himself back off. Seriously, this effect gives him a ****ton of invisible power, as he now has 0 mana concerns 99% of the time.
Also, tone down the aura's strength at base value, but make the most crystals your team controls, the more power each one grants inside of it's range, and even give him some benefits outside of it's range. Finally, make it so that capping them takes longer for everyone but him, but have the caps last for 30 seconds, instead of 10 before it can be contested again, meaning skarner himself has to take the point if his team doesn't have it mid fight, or that if you can steal it mid fight he will not be getting it back that fight.
This, combined with a good nerf to his E's overkill base damage and W's early scaling (starts at 12% max hp. WTF were you smoking riot?), should be enough to get him properly in line.

As a skarner main, i have waited YEARS for this
and then Riot comes out and talks about hotfixes and stuff, meanwhile other champs who get rediculous buffs keep their power for a whole patch or two...

The problem isn't his W or E. There are 2 issues. The first is that Skarner has always been "deal a small amount of damage over and over again with autos inbetween spells and rely on base damage". This is amplified by the new items. The items emphasize base damage (hello Sterak's), meaning that a champion like Skarner is going to heavily abuse that item. Secondly, the bonuses that he gets at level 1 from the crystal zones is INSANE. He gains more free stats from those zones at level 1 than any other stat buff ability or item in the game. They should nerf the new items that have been released, and then tone back Skarner's passive so that the bonuses he gains are not nearly as high early game. The late game scalings are okay, but only because they don't go very far from their starting point. The numbers just need to scale better, is all.
Also, I have found that Skarner is balanced when outside of the crystal zones. Fighting him outside of the jungle is not nearly as difficult, and you can deal with him if you get him out of those areas.
I played Skarner for 3 years, he has been my preferred and favorite jungler for that entire time, and I think these are the changes that should go through, not nerfs to his W or E.
I usually win my games as Skarner prepatch, but after playing him with new stats he isn't as independently strong. If he doesn't fight in the Jung he is basically useless! I find it humorous that Skarner is being seen as godlike while other champs go untouched

I've only seen one Skarner in all the games I've played since the patch so far, and that Skarner DCed.
Either he's still really unpopular, or I'm just lucky. I've yet to see what's so bad about him.
