While going through the comic i just thought, "Why does everyone look like Jhin?"
They have pipes that deliver "pure air". It's safe to say some places are pretty screwed up in Zaun.

Actually the comic takes place in piltover, not zaun. The guy she killed was FROM zaun, attempting to expand his empire into piltover.

My guess is that certain entire sections of Zaun have air that is either toxic or corrosive, which is why a lot of Zaunites have some sort of gas mask in front of their nose and mouth. The Baron's augments look more like fashion than function, but it's possible it could be a very efficient air filter as well.
