URF was a fun game mode the first time you played it, after that it has already been seen and is just a glorified team version of the practice tool.

I'm not against URF but I'm against it taking a spot from other more interesting game modes for two weekends (since those are usually the reason why I keep coming back to LoL these days). Game mode centered around spamming skills doesn't really give much room for strategic thinking which is the main reason we play LoL.

I beg to differ. I think URF should get its time just like other gamemodes do. It's not fair for the people who love URF not to get any.

Only if Riot gives a second gamemode on the same weekend with URF. Cause currently whenever I hear URF is coming, I know I won't be touching the game for two weeks. Already been part of URF the very first time it appeared and couple more times in the rotating modes and can confidentially say I'm over it.

Cause I enjoy more casual game modes offered by the rotating modes. URF doesn't require strategic thinking and that is enough of a reason to not like it. It's purely a pick game: you pick an op champion and you win... or in ARURF you get lucky and win.

Not really. LoL is built on strategic thinking. That's what makes it fun.

By casual modes I mean games that are not as strict as summoner's rift. In SR you pretty much have to fill all the meta roles and play a certain way. In game modes where there's no specific roles (ascension), its more casual and people just want to fight while still strategically thinking by taking enemy cooldowns into consideration.

The fact that you don't have to farm on URF is nice, but there are many other game modes that don't require farming minions.

No it isn't. LoL in recent years is clearly built on mechanical skill expression, that's why we get so many highly mechanical champions nowdays through new champ releases and reworks, and why many old champions who have easy to use spells have been nerfed to the point of unviability. There isn't any strategic thinking in this game other than basic "do they have X", if you want a strategic game go play Dota 2 or an RTS and you will see the real meaning of strategy.

And like your hatred of URF is just your opinion. Yeah there are other game modes without minions, but just by comparing queue times you can see people like URF more.

How can you say LoL is not a strategic game and then bring up Dota 2? They are literally from the same game genre.

I'm not saying there isn't any strategy in URF, I'm saying strategy is extremely minimized from the normal game to the point where it doesn't matter if you blow your important cooldowns.

Some people might think it's fun and it can be fun. Most people who have experienced it several times grow tired of it.

Overwatch and CS:GO are from the same genre too (FPS), but they play differently and have entirely different gameplay elements.

Hence I was only referring to Dota 2 which is played from the same perspective as LoL.

But still they all include strategy, even LoL.

Shoot dude, if you want tons of strategy AND still mechanics, play Age of Empires II. You need to be able to strategically play, but then also micromanage your militaries and villagers. It's kinda insane what high level players can do

Strategy STILL won't get you very high in that game unless you've got mechanics too

Please go play CIV games if you want to strategic thinking. People who want to just kill time and relax and not play competitive they go and play URF or something fast paced. Dont agree with you. In ARURF we managed to win games versus much stronger picks enemy players got. Its all about skill and reflexes. Yes it can be RNG but its fun. Jesus just get over it some people actually are so ignorant nowdays.

Dont agree, ARURF is very fun since every game is different champions, me and my freinds play ARURF and URF all weekend 24/7 when its up and we never get bored ever. Speak for yourself ...

You get more satisfaction from an actual normal game where strategic thinking is part of the game.

Only reason to like URF is to spam abilities in a team environment. You can do that solo in the practice tool.

LOL you really wont stop mentioning solo practice tool? If solo practice tool had option to play versus real players in matchmade games and with friends i would play it every day so would my friends ITS CALLED URF! That is game mode that is fun and maybe you dont know that but stop comparing those 2 thanks lol.

Well then stop asking for URF as a game mode and start asking for a multiplayer practice tool.

URF is a gamemode that splits people in half and making it take up a spot in the rotating gamemodes is just a middle finger to those who absolutely despise it.

I can already hear "well I despise every other game mode"... well then you would be in the minority. Most people like somewhat balanced game modes. URF is the only one that really rises strong feelings on both sides.

Well... Riot not releasing URF / ARURF is a great sign of it not coming back often. Might as well suggest an alternative option to them which wouldn't affect the rotating game mode system.

Hence I suggested that there should be a permanent multiplayer practice tool that mimics URF mode (look few comments up)...

But nooo, people want it to come up every month in the random rotation and take up space from other more balanced game modes.

let's look at poro king then...hmm, people are playing random champs they have no clue about and are also just showing lack of competence when 9/10 snowballs are hit, everyone but one player is off of cooldown and that one player is pinging to shoot the bush...

ARAM is hard enough without having to worry about a giant blue puppy that can kill you and most people do not want to use strategically or even really think about it...

Someone remind me what ascension was? you mean the game mode where one player can destroy an entire team because they got the buff and typically if that one player is good, they run out the clock until the ascended returns, then with newfound kill gold are almost guaranteed to get it again? I only played that mode like 4 times in its initial release

I played URF non-stop and loved showing off out of meta champs. The only champions that really had it bad in the mode are melee champs, but they have it bad in EVERY mode and especially in special game modes

quite probably the only game mode where melee's have no problem interacting with opponents at all...is twisted treeline, which develops an absurd meta of "who can affect the most enemies at once?" during hexakill (even though I liked that mode)

Riot even originally balanced urf and took out problem champions, actually noting player feedback on the PBE and released version, something that has rarely been done in riot's recent history

nexus siege is by far the worst rgm imo, the only other ones that come close are poroking (cause aram is just better) and doom bots (which is fun the first time and never again) i find ascension to be not bad, cause its like actually a new mode compared to normals, and it feels more interactive

Yeah Nexus siege is trash. It gets so boring after one or 2 rounds, and I never really had fun on it. Only time I did is when I played with a friend and played 2 good wave clear/pushing champs. However, I really like the way they added stuff to the shop. The different siege weapons were definitely a good idea.

Nexus Siege is up there for worst game, but there are a lot of bad ones. The Thresh phone game one is pretty bad too. The problem with all of these shitter game modes is that there's no replayability. One game was enough for Poros, Nexus, Blood Moon, Ascension, <insert shitcan game mode>.

I firmly believe that URF, One For All, and Hexakill are on Riot's shitlist because they affect ranked queue times significantly. The 3 most popular and enjoyable game modes never coming up isn't a coincidence.

Give us modes that are actually enjoyable. Im not even asking for URF. All I want is fun modes. One for all is an example of a truly fun mode. I loved trying out different champions and having fun with champs that have great synergy with each other. 5 Brands, Blitzcrank, Illaoi, Darius, and other champs that make the game just plain fun with 5 people. I dont remember a time that I really enjoyed playing Poro king, outside of the VERY first game I played on it.

TLDR give us fun modes pls

Aram is pretty fun for the first few games... The poro king is at least an actual objective. Captain draft is cancer though, I'd love to see the 10 bans in here as well...
