I just recently had a match when after laning phase ended our Caitlyn stayed on bot lane by herself when I was roaming and helping the team. She died atleast three times on bot, each time blaming me for not being there.
A support is only the ADCs support during laning phase. Once laning phase is over the support is the whole team's support people!
This is literally why I stopped roaming as support. If I leave then my adc tends to all-in then be like, "SONA WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GO?!"

It's at this time I persuade my ADC that if I leave lane they get bonus EXP.
It only works some of the time...
If my adc is doing well, I will ask if it is ok for me to go help a lane that might need it. I always come back if things in bot start going bad.
ADCs are like 5 year old kids.

This is why you play shen support. The GTFO is so strong that no one can complain.
