I'd say I'm tired of seeing Leo and Diana being lesbian on the forums, but then I'd be reported for being a homophobe, and get in all kinds of trouble. Thanks, society, for taking away my ability to have opinions.

Well, every rabid socialist out there, a good portion of the LGBT community (Ironic, since the Q applies to me since I'm asexual, but I'm not allowed to say anything since I don't walk around wearing a rainbow shirt identifying by the fact I don't want sex at all; instead, I identify as me, which just isn't okay), and most teenagers, actually. I say one word that's taken as offensive, or I have an even slightly negative tone about what I say, and I immediately get bombarded with reports and bans and all kinds of people freaking out about what I think.

So, I'll pass, as I do use these forums a lot. ^^

Okay: "I don't really see Diana and Leona together. I know the pairing is popular, but it's not for me. I'm not even sure if even one or both are gay, for one."

Not Okay: "Lesbians are disgusting."

If it helps, I don't think Graves is gay and TF/Graves is a semi-popular pairing as well. Doesn't make me homophobic.

Well, my opinion would be more along the lines of the second quote, but worded a little nicer. I just don't want to see it every day I log into the forums.

So, yeah, not allowed. But hey, if you wanna hate on white guys or straight people, that's totally cool -- not racist/sexualist(?) at all. ^^ I love how people think these days.

And, most people don't think it's totally cool to have an opinion that differs from the flock, actually. So, us black sheep just gotta shut up and suck it up. : /

You can't say that it's ok to have an opinion and then proceed to give an example of an opinion that isn't ok. Well, I guess you can since you just did it, but that's called a contradiction.

The implication was that there's a good and bad way to express an opinion, although I should have outright said that.

You can have an opinion, it's just about the execution. There's a difference between "homosexuality is disgusting" and "slash pairings aren't my cup of tea."

That's called 'tact'. Being tactful and not being tactful are not synonymous with being good and being bad, respectively. Being tactless may drive some people away, but it's not bad. Being tactless can be a way to accurately express your opinion if it is that important. Being tact_ful_ allows one to express their opinion while mitigating social schisms at the cost of accuracy.

The main point is that 'tact' is purely about execution and not content. Hence, using your example is you also implying that both statements are identical (or as close possible) to each other, which is a false equivalence. Disliking slash pairings is not same in kind (and different in degree) as disliking homosexuality or homosexuals in general.

I can see what you're saying, I just think it's a cute picture lol, kinda puts them on a friendly note, you know taking away the seriousness everyone always seems to have about the game all the time.

I hate the Leona + Diana ship, it makes no sense. Firstly, when it started their lore was they were enemies. They still aren't exactly buddy-buddy. Secondly, they're both female. I get homosexuality is a thing but you'd be killed for it before just a couple hundred years ago, and shunned for it just thirty. Why would Runeterra, which only Piltover and Zaun are first-world countries while everywhere else still hasn't even made electricity, allow homosexuality? Thirdly, even if they did like eachother, its like Katarina and Garen- if they followed through with it they'd be betraying their very lives' works. They'd be heretics of their own making.
