Er, are supports supposed to? They're called "Supports" for a reason. Their job is to let the others carry and basically use themselves either as a meat shield or as crowd control for the rest of the team

Although, Leona exists. And Thresh ADC (very rarely) works. The one time I was against a Blitz top, he did pretty well even if he was stomped on.

I suppose you're targeting "support" type champions - specifically the squishy ones - in general and if so, you've never seen Morgana , Lulu , Sona , or Soraka (albeit she's not really good solo anymore) solo lane.

this is bullshit. Part of being a good solo Q support player is figuring out who your carries are. To win you need ONE good player, and you need to focus your efforts on making him.

You're pathetic melee range adc that managed a few kills in lane but always gets bursted every fight? Fuck him, mute him and give and give your aid to YOUR assassin/bruiser who is fed and enable him to pin down soft targets/avoid return fire so he can carry you. Or peel for your competent mid mage and let the ADC go fuck himself.

Better yet, you and the fed player combine to use your worthless adc as bait and just kill the guys diving him every fight. But you need to start doing this early, not when it's late game and their assassins or carries are too fed to kill before they rape your entier team

I would disagree rather harshly with this. Games without supports are practically unwinnable-- the real benefit to having one is that they can perform well without much farm. They don't scale as hard, so you don't want too many, but having a support lets you dedicate more farm to the other four champs.

In turn, because this one player doesn't need farm, they can focus their efforts on heavy warding/roaming and defensive play for their allies. The best support will never let their allies die before teamfights start-- and if you can't die, you can't lose.

I got called noob and useless after getting my lane 5/0 before their tower was destroyed.

And then we threw the game cuz they thought a 1/0/4 Leona could solo 5 guys while they were spreaded famring jungle ignoring the defense of objectives.

Some people are quick to judge. I haven't really been in a game like this since I left bronze.

However, the idea is that throughout early to mid game, you are able to get your adc ridiculously fed. They assure you they will carry as expected. Then they do something stupid that gets them killed, such as turret diving or being extremely out of position, and due to this the enemy team wins the game. This doesn't apply to solely adcs, it can be any kind of carry-style champion.
