More like if the tribunal was up and could see pick order and champ select screen chat. Kind of ironic (if thats it) that he jokes about a bad community then leaves due to it.

Kind of extreme...Tribunal doesn't hand out death sentences, only bans and warnings. ;)

Does reporting anyone do anything anymore? I mean, it makes me feel better at least. But if someone gets reported 30+ times temp ban him. This would be a temporary fix...... and if they keep getting reported do some sort of investigation (to prevent abuse.) But bloody freaking seriously riot.... it's just like they fUrgot about it

While I'm not advocating people using "[role] or feed" tactics, I believe that instead of first pick just locking that role, they should consider the consequences of their actions.

  1. If you are first pick and take the role that last pick called, it shows a clear lack of teamwork on your part. Come on... the guy obviously wants that role and is probably best at that role. That isn't to say he's not going to suck, but at least he will suck LESS than if he is forced into a role he is uncomfortable with. Also I understand that the guy saying "[role] or feed" isn't exactly showing the best teamwork... that's not really an excuse to also not be a team player.

  2. The excuse of "you should know every role before playing ranked" does not apply because if you honestly believe that, you should have no problem NOT taking the only role one of your teammates can play.

  3. Pick order is overrated. If you are using pick order like the law of champ select, then you are putting communication and teamwork below your random luck of the draw. Shouldn't you be trying to work with your team in order to make sure everyone is at least somewhat happy? Instead of using your arbitrarily appointed "early" position as some sort of power play?

Is being first pick and taking whatever role you want, even at the expense of your team, really worth more than likely losing the game? Look at the upsides and downsides of your decision:

If you pick regardless of your team's preferences:

  • someone is probably going to be stuck in a role they can't play, which means they will either end up feeding due to poor performance, feeding because they are mad at you, or afking because they refuse to play a role they are just going to do badly at

Best case scenario is that the person only does mildly bad, doesn't feed too much... maybe pulls off a decent play or two, and you might possibly win after a grueling 50+ minute match and lots of arguing and accusations.

If you pick with your team's preferences taken into consideration:

  • hey look, you might not have gotten the role you really really wanted to play, but you're supposed to know all the roles (according to you) so you do decently fine with whatever role you get relegated to. Sure you were first pick, but you want to win... not argue with people and lose the match, just because you wanted to play a specific role/champ.

Worst case scenario is the person who demanded a role does badly in that role anyway... Which... I guess proves you right. Yay? Except that person surely would have done even worse in any other role.

So in one scenario you give yourself the best chance of actually winning... with a slight chance of losing anyway. The other scenario you give yourself the worst chance of winning, but you get that coveted preferred role you wanted.

So in the end... what do you prefer? Do you really want to win, or do you really just want to play one role/champ more than anything?

Turns out most people apparently don't want to win.

If only the Tribunal still existed... now we have automated systems. Yes, Riot does manually check them for bans -- but they have a very different idea of what is acceptable than the community.

Yeah Riot is beyond stupid now. Riot needs to quit trying to "control" us and instead worry about their game not the community. Their negative feedback is causing the community to be even more negative. I hate to say this but I believe all of Riot's management didn't learn anything from college or even took sociology.

SaintMarcuz11/12/2014, 3:33:59 AM3 votes

if we had the tribunal, we wouldn't have to deal with Riots crappy support ticket bot. When it takes them twelve days to respond on your ban then ban you for something you didn't even do.... item 3073

ˆayy11/12/2014, 12:28:45 PM2 votes

I got 6 chat-bans in a row. I deserved the first 2. Than I just simply stopped talking. I continued to get 4 more chat bans [in a row]. And NOW for some unknown reason, I am not getting ANY chat bans anymore. Weird huh?Amumu

Twizted Dream11/12/2014, 6:18:18 AM2 votes

See the problem with not being able to have the tribunal see the chat logs from the game is this... there are players out there, especially PVPers that will report players for negative attitude just because someone is better than them, even though they never said a word in game chat. My husband is a good PVP player and shares this account with me, and has his own account lvl 20. His level 20 account gets reported for negative attitude all the time even though he doesn't speak to a soul during pvp.

If court worked like the tribunal you wouldn't even get to present your side of the case. The accuser would be the only one who gets their side out. The accused has to hope the judge cares. Or in today's case with no tribunal the accused has to hope they aren't accused too often or they are automatically punished.

Ryvaku11/12/2014, 7:59:29 PM2 votes

I actually find this pretty amusing. This is why I try to learn all roles when I play just in case this happens.
