that said I'm like 99.9999999% sure that all permabans have to be audited by a rioter once it gets escalated that far, so saying tribunal did it is a little off anyway.

If you are first pick and take the role that last pick called, it shows a clear lack of teamwork on your part. Come on... the guy obviously wants that role and is probably best at that role. That isn't to say he's not going to suck, but at least he will suck LESS than if he is forced into a role he is uncomfortable with. Also I understand that the guy saying "[role] or feed" isn't exactly showing the best teamwork... that's not really an excuse to also not be a team player.
The excuse of "you should know every role before playing ranked" does not apply because if you honestly believe that, you should have no problem NOT taking the only role one of your teammates can play.
Pick order is overrated. If you are using pick order like the law of champ select, then you are putting communication and teamwork below your random luck of the draw. Shouldn't you be trying to work with your team in order to make sure everyone is at least somewhat happy? Instead of using your arbitrarily appointed "early" position as some sort of power play?
Is being first pick and taking whatever role you want, even at the expense of your team, really worth more than likely losing the game? Look at the upsides and downsides of your decision:
If you pick regardless of your team's preferences:
Best case scenario is that the person only does mildly bad, doesn't feed too much... maybe pulls off a decent play or two, and you might possibly win after a grueling 50+ minute match and lots of arguing and accusations.
If you pick with your team's preferences taken into consideration:
Worst case scenario is the person who demanded a role does badly in that role anyway... Which... I guess proves you right. Yay? Except that person surely would have done even worse in any other role.
So in one scenario you give yourself the best chance of actually winning... with a slight chance of losing anyway. The other scenario you give yourself the worst chance of winning, but you get that coveted preferred role you wanted.
So in the end... what do you prefer? Do you really want to win, or do you really just want to play one role/champ more than anything?

The guy obviously wants the role, so may the other person. The other guy may be best at that role, what's to say the person taking it isn't either? It's a double standard that sympathizes with one over the other through little else than a complete bias.
That's a double standard and almost hypocritical even. To paraphrase what you're saying: Sure you may know every role and believe others should be able to play every role while in ranked, therefore you should be fine playing a different role because someone else doesn't know every role, because you should know every role and he shouldn't.
Being a team player you know every role so when you're 'that guy' at the bottom of the pick order you can do what is needed of you. Which is regarding the team prior to even having one.
Someone who joins and says 'adc only main' has no thought, much less regard for anyone else who may main adc and if he doesn't get it, is a liability to his entire team. Yet you're actively encouraging that over the guise of 'lack of communication'.
If you have a preference, that's fine. If someone is willing to give you the role, that's great. But don't think others are obligated to give someone else a role through preference alone.
Look at it like this, why can't the other guy do a different role? Why does he get any sort of precedence over the other players? Because he's lower?
I'm very familiar with the pain of lacking communication. I actually still play roam, I've even done it in ranked this season. I actually run revive and clairvoyance at times too. One time I played roam, someone asked 'why not just jungle?' I know how to jungle, I've ranked in jungle, but that game I felt confident in roaming. So I told him 'I prefer roaming'. No one tried to work with me and instead proceeded to lose lane horribly because they were insulting me rather than playing and then blamed me for it. Here's a screen shot of it, wish I had more, but I was really trying to pull through for the team so I only got the one of the post-game lobby. What I'm trying to say is, even when someone takes a role you want, or is doing something you may disagree with tactically, try to work with it and not just believe that they're obligated to do anything more than consider your input. Here's the thing, people in ranked do what they're confident in. If they're picking a role someone else wants, chances are they're very confident in their ability to play that role, and so on.

The Red Goat1 votesWhile you make a good point that the person calling "role or feed" is not guaranteed to that role just because they called it, the guy you're responding to is also valid in saying that champion selection order does make it set in stone for who gets what role. You're bot making good points and arguments that people need to talk more in champion select and in playing the game in general.
So saying why both of your posts have been down-voted I don't know or understand unless the League community wants to stay as mostly [jerks] to one another. This is good advice for more than just League and people should learn from it.
Edit: I have also apparently found a way to sorta cheat in one swear word past the filters. I have also removed it for not wanting trolls to get a hold of this knowledge.

Their negative feedback is causing the community to be even more negative. I hate to say this but I believe all of Riot's management didn't learn anything from college or even took sociology.
Twizted Dream2 votesSee the problem with not being able to have the tribunal see the chat logs from the game is this... there are players out there, especially PVPers that will report players for negative attitude just because someone is better than them, even though they never said a word in game chat. My husband is a good PVP player and shares this account with me, and has his own account lvl 20. His level 20 account gets reported for negative attitude all the time even though he doesn't speak to a soul during pvp.

AbodyHUN6662 votesDon't worry, an automated system checks the reports and sends the chat logs and some other things to riot if it finds something punishable. By the time you get level 30 things will get better, and you will see a lot less negativity.
The Red Goat1 votesI can attest I've had to fight myself to not report someone just because I lose a game from my opponent playing at such an extremely high level above most of my team that they fed off people rather than be fed by them.
Recently had a game go very poorly for the majority of the match because a Nidalee "support" was getting easy spear kills (cause her spears are broken in strength like that) on my support and then would take me out when she got ahead enough. It took nearly an hour to come back from that but we did because my team worked together to stop wave pushes and then turn them around because our opponents didn't really have the same split push power our team did.
I still didn't honor Nidalee for a game well played but I didn't report her either (those spears had taken too many teammates out when they shouldn't have for me to feel she played honorably).

The accused has to hope the judge cares. Or in today's case with no tribunal the accused has to hope they aren't accused too often or they are automatically punished.

I just can't really fathom that you actually believe that you got a 600 game chat restriction because an improbable amount of consecutive strangers decided that they would "abuse" the harassment and negative attitude functions to single out and report someone who showed no indication of being deserved of such a report.
I really hope that you at least attempt to shed this line of thinking before you get done with your chat restrictions or you are going to end up right back in them or worse perma-banned.
