Thank you, yet again, Riot, for making a Poppy skin for the support/mage mains that only wanted that skin just because it would look "cute".

And before you get tilted, realize that I'm not calling the skin theme itself isn't bad, it just doesn't suit Poppy.
Oleandervine3 votesFirst of all, skins deliver a highly different fantasy to the character. Let's take a look at some: Pool Party Leona/Taric - Does this scream tank? No. Are these skins insanely fun to use and deliver a great summer theme? Yes. Reaper Soraka - Does this skin tell me she's a healer? No. It's still an inventive skin to give Soraka something that isn't celestial or straight divine. Academy/Pop Star/Arcade Ahri - How do these convey mage assassin? Master Chef Kench - Does this convey tank support? French Maid Nidalee - How does this skin tell me she's a transforming jungler?
So I could go on through the whole roster. My point is that skins are not mean to scream "HEY I'M A TANK!" or "HEY I'M A MAGE," because the entire point of skins is to deliver fun and sometimes silly interpretations of the characters. Your logic about Poppy's frankly adorable Star Guardian skin falls flat on its face because it would mean you have to have problems with nearly every skin created because of their very nature.

When they give her, not one, but three skins that convey the impression that she's a non-combatant loser with a hammer she probably doesn't know how to use, then that's like removing the oranges from Gangplank or the dunking from Darius. It's a crucial part of their character and without it, they just aren't the same. Yeah, we can have it so there's a skin on Garen where he doesn't scream "Demacia" at the top of his lungs (probably nightmare?) but when you have three, it's betraying his character arc. Just the same as when you have one skin that conveys Poppy as a ragdoll or oompah-loompah, it doesn't crush her unique and admirable personality, but she just turns into kawaii anime girl #4599 when you give her too many of those.
Also, you don't even play Poppy, so how would you know it'd fit her?

I do Play her, but not recently since I've been doing support. Also, the two skins you listed are holiday skins. Lollipoppy is an old Halloween skin from years ago, and Ragdoll is an old Christmas skin. Earnest Elf Tristana, Happy Elf Teemo, Candy Cane Miss Fortune, Bad Santa Veigar, Shamrock Veigar, Re-Gifted Amumu, Santa Gragas, Snowmerdinger, Snow Day Skins, Winter Wonderland Skins, Haunting Nocturne, Pumpkinhead Fiddlesticks, Zombie Ryze, Bewitching Nidalee, Frankentibbers, Definitely Not Blitzcrank, Headmistress Fiora, Zombie Brand, Pirate Ryze, and Zombie Nunu are ALL holiday skins that deviate and paint different fantasies for their respective champions, just like Poppy's two holiday skins. Complaining that she has holiday skins that give her a different fantasy when so many other champions have holiday skins is an unfair thing to do. The majority of Poppy's non-holiday skins (Noxus, Battle Regalia, and Scarlet Hammer) all portray her as a hardened warriors and very very clearly a serious tank. Blacksmith Poppy kind of conveys this too, but it is a lore driven skin from her old lore. Your accusation that Poppy has too many "non combat non tank" skins is just absurd because you are specifically hating on Star Guardian Poppy and not actually acknowledging that other skins on other champs exist in the game that follow your same line of logic. In fact, you ignore that the majority of skins in game deviate from the base fantasy and choose to keep attacking Poppy's two other silly fun skins, created specifically for holidays, and try to use that to drive home some skewed point as to why you hate Star Guardian.

Darius has only two unarmored skins (assuming you count Woad King as armored)
Garen has only one unarmored skin.
Those guys aren't true tanks, Poppy is and yet she has four unarmored skins. If Riot must make a skin for Poppy just to appease the people who don't even play her, then they should at least have the decency to make a skin that doesn't deface her anymore.

I'm a Poppy/Tank main and I wouldn't like seeing Poppy in Big Ugly Clunky Grey Armor of Blandness, if Riot was to make skins based on champ roles only, you'll have a very boring game.

She's like Taric, they've indestructible bodies, like seriously she was smashed by a Giant Monster in the comic(She could be wearing a Tutu and still not get crushed), do you think she really needs to wear a lot of armor(like Garen/Dyrus who are normal human-beings who needs a lot of armor to survive battles) when she has a superhuman body with super-strength to back it up(Don't forget the fact Yordles are somewhat fairies, so magic also plays a part in it too, which maybe the reason why she qualified to get a Magical Girl Based skin)?

I checked the splash art again just to be sure, no legit armor. Also, if they wanted her to be the fierce soldier of the team and not just another kawaii, super-powered, anime girl, they probably should've focused more on "fierce" and less on "non-threatening".

Yeah, she should either wear a good deal of armor, or have skin made of solid rock in order to look like a tank, since she doesn't have the latter, she gets the former. The only reason she doesn't don heavy armor like Garen and Darius do is because, lore-wise, she travels a lot and thus wears the more practical medium-armor that's durable and light.
(Don't forget the fact Yordles are somewhat fairies, so magic also plays a part in it too, which maybe the reason why she qualified to get a Magical Girl Based skin)?
It never once said in the lore that yordles are fairies. It did say they evolved from fae creatures, but take one look at Pix (not the Star Guardian one, obviously) and it's clear that Runeterra's faeries and classic storybook fairies are very different. And with that logic, Ziggs and Heimerdinger should look all magical and glittery too, because they're evidently "fairies".

And he's also a humongous, hulking minotaur. Because Poppy doesn't have such innate resilience to physical damage, she'd have to wear quite the amount of armor to shrug off hate like he does. Zac has no skins with armor, but because he's a massive goo-man, he doesn't need (or probably have the capability) to wear armor.

Really that's practically Medium Armor and you keep forgetting Poppy is also Timid, Apologetic, Humble, Compassionate and has low self-esteem who will put people like Garen on a higher pedestal before herself, so she's more of a peacemaker which means she'll try to use words first than force second(If her cute factor also didn't work).
Don't forget she's also known to Fangirl.

No, what I'm saying is Tomboys are still girls(No matter how much she acts like a boy), so she'll will do girly stuff sometimes basically she's the Tomboy with a Girly Streak trope.
But, I like Tomboys...just not girls who forget that they're girls, stereotypes plays no role on that, also isn't that a stereotype you just mentioned? She's not Wonder Woman, you know..with that in mind even Wonder Woman knows that too much armor is redundant when you're SuperHuman and Magical.

I understand...You're going to fight on until you get that precious Pots and Pans skin that you love so much on Poppy, like how people fought to get Poppy in the most girliest skin line ever.
I think Imperial will look better than Steel legion, IMO.
P.S. Don't forget Poppy is kinda a fast tank so it kinda make sense for her to not wear over heavy armor.

Also, I have asked tank mains, they said that, yes, Poppy needs a skin that actually gives the impression of an offensive tank like she should be (she's of the vanguard subclass, think Leona top/jungle) not another skin like Ragdoll or Lollipoppy.
I know that people have different opinions, but other than you just now, I haven't met any that believe she needs to appear even less intimidating. I can't be taken seriously as a tank when over half my main's skins are unarmored and "kawaii".
I'm dissapointed that this is her first new skin, now I have to wait a long while for the next skin to come out and it's probably not going to be 1820 worth (Steel Legion, Riot, I'm begging you!)

New lore's good, still says "sheer grit and determination". It's the invented personality of the otaku girls that don't even play tank that's annoying. She's a tomboy, even more of one than Tristana.
