macromite1 voteswell, both are still great, but personal pref always wins out. both worth a watch even if you've seen the other. though its important to start with the original, as a lot of core concepts from it are missing in brotherhood, due to the expectation that you had already seen the first one when the second one aired.

rtbf2256182412 votesDon't really like the style and it seems quite generic to me in a way. Monsters, cliché moral struggles and mediocre animation. Not right now since i'm focusing on RWBY and finished Death Note a while ago.
JerulEon2 votesNo monsters. More like an epic tale of war, politics, religion, alchemy/science, brotherhood, and sacrifice both physically and emotionally. It's considered one of the best anime ever made, and I would recommend watching Brotherhood over the first.

I know you like it but saying "It's considered one of the best anime ever made" is just not accurate. Considered by whom? The fans? Ofcourse. RWBY is also considered one with some of the most interesting character plot line for me i've ever seen aligning with coreography and superior humor and Death Note is also considered a masterpiece.
There's no such statement that can be accurate without looking at the numbers. I couldn't find the ranking for the anime (i guess manga's still good enough for the Japanese audience) so it only ranked 10 and 11 in the recent years on their top 10 manga rankings.
Sword Art Online was ranked first 5 years ago and the second best the first half of this year and also making the top ten list in the past 3 years despite being widely regarded as generic and "stupid" by most people i know.
JerulEon2 votesLol It's like at least top ten on a lot of anime list sites. It is also #2 on myanimelist. Maybe SAO got the top spot for that year but it's definitely not one of best of all time.
You may think FMA is generic as hell but to each his own opinion and tastes. Side note, I also watch RWBY, it's pretty good.
