I came up with the idea when I got my rear handed to me as Poppy by Rumble.

They need to make Magic Resist easier to build on tanks, there's item 3102 and item 3065 and that's about it.

3 of those are useless because AP only increases W damage (I know, it does damage. It's hard to notice) and she doesn't really build much attack speed.

I've built triforce as my attack speed item. It's not bad, but it's more bruiser Poppy where I play tank Poppy.

I built it once. Wasn't enough to ever convince me to build it again (I hate triforce. It's too expensive for my liking to rely on).

If I want a damage item I build BC. Otherwise it's straight tank.

Whenever I bother getting a damage item, I prefer Frozen Mallet, (like you said) Black Cleaver, or Titanic Hydra. Otherwise I just build full tank, you kill more people that way. XD

It does have a higher winrate according to OP.GG. But that's because the common 0/12/18 on Poppy doesn't have bandit. I like to call it GitRichQwikUScrub (or the Bandit mastery, that works too).

Let's compare the two.

Dangerous Game grants you a sliver of health and mana for getting a kill or assist which may happen about two times by the 15 minute mark.

Bandit gives you cash for love-tapping an enemy every 10 seconds, which may happen twice every minon wave including the occasional exceptions (one of you isn't present, harass is too strong, they're playing super defensive, etc.) Extra moolah doesn't have to be limited to supports. I wouldn't recommend it on junglers or anyone ranged, but it's really useful on Poppy since she can use her shield to get it.
