The way they do things is so backwards, I don't even feel like playing ranked. First off, why do placements if it's going to put you in a division below anyhow? Wasting my time like that ... gg Riot.

Placements were more or less a formality, they affected your MMR more than normal games do but didn't have a major effect on where you placed. You were placed a little below where your MMR from last season said you should be, which generally meant people dropped quite a bit of ranks.

The important thing to remember is that it didn't detract from what you learned to improve last season and the old rank should return a lot faster than it did before.

No, it means your behind the scenes MMR was probably a bit over B1 (S4-5) and then it dropped you a bit below where it figured you should be. It's worth noting this doens't necessarily mean you were playing against people in low silver before the end of last season. It means that with the current system the gap between MMR and LP for everyone can grow pretty far apart for everyone. So the season reset can seem very funky. (I went from G4-S3 on 4-6 placements)

well don't blame then if you play ranked all the time and never get out of bronze what do you expect? If riot doesnt' like it they should file a lawsuit against the 100 sites that offer it.

PS: I reported like 3 listing on ebay that offer boosting. nothing happened. boosting should be allowed. as long as riot gets money from the account buying skins and shit who cares?

Unfortunately some people lose all motivation to climb again if they get poor placements. So they tend to make someone boost there account. It's sad but it does happen =(

That's why I didn't bother trying in placements. Stuck with the reatated cancers that are Bronze five.... And by retarded cancers I don't mean trolls or feeders.. No no no no.. Not even afks... No the worst problem is the false hopers... When you enter a game and your team has honor Ribbons and silver or gold borders and then you get in game and by 10 minutes you're up a dragon 5 kills and a few turrets.

Then JUST ONE time ONLY ONCE does the ADC die or the mid complains that I didn't call the Mia I CLEARY called, and everyone starts spewing toxicity at each other and Bickering and acting like retards and then they manage to lose a game we could've easily won if nobody had started a fight....

Gold V to Bronze V? Nope. You can only drop a tier lower so you would end up in Silver V most likely or Bronze I.

You must have had pretty bad MMR that was way below Platinum IV. I ended in Platinum IV and got Gold V with 4 - 6.

And that is not 2 entire tiers. This post is Gold V at best to Bronze V which is full 2 tiers. I haven't heard of anybody that was Gold or above and ended up in Bronze V unless they went 0 - 10 like seriously, then you've earned it.

Not the point. You CAN drop more than 1 tier. And my mmr was not bad either. It was average for my league. My friend who was gold 2 got silver 4 after going 4-6 as well. Again he had average mmr.

lol attitude has nothing to do with it. It's annoying when kids like you act like they know what they're talking about. You very well can drop more than even what I did if you have bad mmr instead of the league average.

And yes I agree that dropping 2 entire tiers after going 0-10 is rather deserved. But going even and still nearly dropping that much? I think not.

You can drop more than 1 tier but not 2 tiers unless you go 0 - 10, but i've not seen anyone who did this bad.

And yes you can drop more than 1 tier. The reset effected everyone to a different degree. The people you face in provisionals also has an effect on how much your placement will be affected by the outcome of the match. It sounds as if you don't believe me when I say I went 5-5 so you keep alluding to the 0-10 outcome for provisionals. Look at my match history if you doubt me.

First, you have nearly a year to climb so stop whining on the Boards on your "shitty" rank.

Second, i believe you played against lower opponents during your provisionals (you don't gain/lose LP from that) and lost against them, resulting in your placement rank.

First, I am not complaining/whining. I am simply pointing out a flaw in his original statement. He said you cannot place lower than 1 tier below your original rank. I stated he was wrong as did another player.

Second, if you had read my comment, I stated just that. I was unfortunate with the matchmaking and got placed against people slightly lower than my mmr. Riot pointed out themselves that matchmaking was messed up and it was a bug with the new champion select. I was most likely one of the people affected by the bug which caused me to lose games and win games against people with lower MMR. I check the rank of my opponents every game (also what they were ranked the previous season) and found that there was a drastic change in rank after the reset. My enemies and allies were significantly lower in previous rank than before dynamic queue had been put into place.

Thank you for enforcing my point though. [slayer-jinx-wink]

My mmr was not poor. I was not playing with poor mmr because first of all every site on earth was telling me my mmr was the same as my league, and secondly because I was gaining and losing 20 lp. aka: average mmr for my league.

You should try not to get so pissed about things that are said or things you see over the internet. Kinda makes you look like a flamer [slayer-jinx-wink]

How can you gain 20 Lp during promos? And there's no way you can remember exact incomes for the past 30 games you played before your promos.

LOL I can't remember getting +20 or +21 every single game? It's a pattern, therefore it's not hard to figure out that I was gaining and losing the same amount across an entire month. If someone can't remember roughly how much lp you gain across merely 30 games, that's just bad memory or they're not paying attention/not caring.

And I was not talking about promos/placements. Every game leading up to the reset I was getting about 20 lp per win, thus my mmr leading up to the placements was not below average.

And honestly, I am not trying to piss you off. I am simply trying to prove a point. It's not my fault you're getting ticked off by a Jinx emoticon. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

So it was propably because everyone got mixed up in the MMR soup after everyone lost their ranks, so you got matched against lower MMR players than you used to have.

I started Bronze 5 last season, worked my way up to Bronze 1 (I don't play ranked too often, it's too toxic for me). This season I went 4-6 in my placement games and ended up in Bronze 4. I don't get it. With plats and golds getting dropped into Silver I was positive I'd get placed in Wood 13. Maybe this season I'll actually try to rank up instead of just playing norms.

Playing a good amount of norms is a good way to get out of Bronze. Take it from me, you learn absolutely nothing from playing against people in Bronze 5. Play a shitload of norms and get matched up against silvers/golds and you will get better at the game and find it much easier to get fed in your Bronze matches.
