Bull shit, I've reported so many people while smurfing and only received that message once.

Really really feel bad for new players I now know what kind of toxicity they have to put up with. Aside from the people their facing are either pros or boosted animals.

Your reports get value attached based on how you use the system. If you report a lot for minor offenses (like someone being arrogant), the value of your reports will decrease. I think that fresh accounts start with a rather low value.

Still, I think getting this message almost daily is quite an exaggeration, I don't meet that many truely toxic people and not all of them will grant you this message.

You only get a pop-up if you were the most recent person to report. If you don't get the popup, doesn't mean the player wasn't banned.

I'm pretty sure it only gives that message if your report was the last one that fully got the person punished. Other reports still count, but that's the only one that gets the message.

Yes thats true. So with potentiality dozens of reports leading up to a severe ban, the chances of getting the message are fairly low. Low enough that "daily" is certainly an exaggeration.

However i do still see it faily often, which leads me to believe they penalize on a LOT of the reported players

My point to Pentarina Only was more that they could simply be one of the earlier reports generally. While this isn't based on RNG, there are always people who don't get the "expected" number of (in this case) successful report messages.

i've been chill leveling with friends ( and making new ones at the same time ) and i've been reporting retards non stop got at least 7 messages of someone got punished. sometimes you dont even get a message. Or for example on the account i got perma'd i reported the trolls and the INT's that made me toxic in the 1st place i did get banned myself for beeing rude and toxic but everytime i log in a notification that somebody from past reports got punished aswell. so it soothes my pain haha

Reading these comments is funny because they are very polarized. There is one group of people who are all "LOL TOXICITY ISN'T REAL YOU'RE ALL TOO SENSITIVE HOW PATHETIC" and another group that is like "Yes, I also enjoy when toxic people are punished."

It's also something to note that a lot of the comments defending toxicity are toxic in their own nature, calling the op a horrible, sad, pathetic person.

I've got this message once, but boy, was it worth it. This guy was the most toxic player I had ever seen.

I was smurfing with my new friend so he wouldn't go against level twenties. Wanting to play Veigar, he tries to get mid and fails, going jungle instead after some encouragement from me. I try to get top because Rumble is the only champion I know on the free rotation, but another guy gets it and I end up with support. I choose Zilean. I had played him once during my pre-thirty levels so I knew how he functioned, but I was no master of his kit. I wasn't quite sure how to optimally use his time reset, and I wasn't the best at hitting bombs. Choosing whether to slow people or speed them up was also an issue. We, bot lane, die at level two because I misuse my abilities. I apologize to my marksman, a Draven. Draven curses me out, telling me how I lost him lane. I tell him that his cs is better than Kog's and that this is just early game, we can come back. We come back to lane, fight a bit more, then get ganked by Master Yi. Another double kill for bot lane. (Dang, I suck at this champion.) "NOOB SUPPORT U LOST ME LANE" "I am a noob, it's my first time on this champ" "U LOST ME LANE" "Want me to go somewhere else" "YES U BAD, I CARRY ALONE" Curse words omitted.

Draven keeps getting killed, and eventually he starts blaming Annie, the opposing support, for babysitting Kog'Maw. "IF U 1V1 ME I WIN" - "U JUST HAVE ANNIE CAMPING YOUR butt" "im better than you, i will win" "ONLY BECAUSE MY NUB SUPPORT AND CAMPING ANNIE"

Then he remembers my words. "LOOK MY CS BETTER THAN YOURS" "i have more kills" "U KILL NOOB SUPPORT"

Meanwhile, I'm supporting our Nasus. He's a bit peeved that I'm leaching his exp, but Draven clearly doesn't want me.

Soon, in ally chat: "ff20" a few minutes later a surrender vote is instigated by Draven fails 3/2

"A summoner has disconnected."

Well, I can go back to bot lane now.

I teach my friend about reporting players like this, and we both report the player. Kog'Maw said he would do so as well. (I did not ask him, or anybody else aside from my friend, to.) As we queue up for the next blind pick, this time on Twisted Treeline, we get the report message. Yesss.

Yeah, I played him once a year ago. I didn't feel like typing out the "first time in awhile" because I decided that my experience from a year ago was basically worthless, and the worth of my knowledge wasn't worth the extra second typing. I knew what his spells did, but I forgot how to optimally use them. (I never knew in the first place, to be honest. I was clueless the first time and only time I played him.)

I understood all of the spells, including his cooldown reducer. I'm not stupid. (Not all Bronze players are stupid either. They just don't have the game knowledge or the mechanics to progress in rank.) What I did not understand were the good times to double bomb and the good times to use a double slow or a slow and speed up or a double speed up, so I floundered. That knowledge was not stuff that I picked up from my first game a year and a half ago, or knowledge that I was able to discern by reading the tooltips. I did not look up a guide before the game, unfortunately, because I was hoping I would get Rumble. I'm Silver, and as I said, I was smurfing because I wanted to play with my low leveled friend without making him go against more experienced level 20's. I gradually found out that I elevated his MMR to that of a smurf's by playing with him as a smurf, but now I'm not sure whether to smurf with him and make him face other smurfs, or play normally with him and make him face high levels.

I still don't see the bad side of it. The guy who got reported was punished for showing a high amount of unsportsmanship. The reporter should feel proud for himself for making League a better place.

I guess I'll repeat myself and maybe give an example as well. It is sad that he feels happiness from getting someone punished rather than just playing the game because that's how the community is. For example, a police officer could get a bunch of criminals into the jail or whatever, sure he could be happy getting them in jail but why would the officer be happy when he knows that more criminals are gonna be there. The officer is more happy getting criminals in jail rather than eating donuts with officer buddies because that's the state of the community. Sure taking those criminals off the streets is good but when you're more happy putting bad people in jail over eating donuts with friends that's sad.

Most reports are just from some kid pissed off that somebody else isn't playing how they want them to, not for actually breaking any rules.
