The cake is a lie.
If ice cream cakes didn't exist, I'd be hard-pressed to go with cake.

Cake is too heavy. Pie has fruit aspects which make it a healthier choice as well.

Sometimes when you eat cake, the frosting becomes too much :x I voted pie. Because you can't have a marionberry or apple cake. but you can have apple crisp pie with melted ice cream and jfdksl;fjds <3
Depends on the cake/pie. For example a pumpkin cheese cake or a birthday cake are just as good as an apple pie :)

I've never actually liked cake. To the point where my parents used to have to get creative for my birthday. I will never forget the birthday 'cake' that was made entirely of Krispy Kreme Donuts, RIP (3/8/2000-3/8/2000).

I see a lot of comments about cake being heavier than pie, but in my experience it depends on the recipe. I've had a lot of pies that are far heavier than most cakes I've had and vice versa. A large factor in how heavy a cake is typically is dependent on how much frosting the creator chose to use, and how heavy that is, rather than the cake itself, as well as all the other stuff put on top of it. I myself am very fond of a classic cheese cake as well as Chinese fruit cake (which isn't heavy at all imo). The only pie I really like is apple, so I voted cake.
Pie has way more texture, tastes so much better because it isn't so hefty, and pie doesn't make you feel fat after.
