Anyone up for some good ol' Dungeons and Dragons on the boards?

Preferably 3.5 or 4th editon 3.5 it is, I'd be willing to DM if we get enough people.

It'd be played purely through the boards, and it'd just something we'd do over time.

I'm also not super against large amounts of people, like hell if we get 80 people in on this that'd be hilarious to play.

If you don't know how to play, I'm fairly certain I or other people can help you out on creating your character/teaching you the basics.

Anyone up for it?

#Note for character creation

If the class and race are from 3.5, we're good. But make sure it's a level 5 character to start off with.

But seriously, how do you even play D&D? I've heard of it bit never got the chance to play it.

I'm more of a pathfinder and 5e Guy (they treat martials better).

I recently picked up Shadowrun from the Origins game fair. Love the setting but character creation and progression is annoying as hell to understand as a newbie.

Have never played before, but would love to participate.

This sounds like something you would do in the roleplaying section of the forums

Would you need your own exact copy of the D&D 3.5 edition to play? I don't own any personal roleplaying books, but I used to play Earthdawn with some friends a long time ago, and I'd really like to see what it'd be like to try D&D, as well as trying it on the Boards, too!

You have made a wise decision to go with 3.5. Having played both editions I can tell you that 4.0 is the worst edition of DnD out there.

4.0 is like a kiddie meal compared to the steak dinner of 3.5; just because some can't chew it doesn't mean it's not 10x better.

Personally I'd rather play https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/0/0e/Pathfinder_RPG_Core_Rulebook_cover.jpeg . Why?

Because I can play a Kitsune Mysterious Stranger Gunslinger... With the Advanced Race Guide and Ultimate Combat books that is. [slayer-jinx-wink]

Sure there isn't a third party site to use? It'd seem difficult to pull it off on the boards.

I'd be willing to since I could use the practice. Surprised I'm not the only one still using 3.5e.
