Unranked = Roughly Silver by default. People are rather bad players at that elo.

norms have their own elo, but unranked players starting in ranked are higher up than bronze in the ridiculous division caste system some people insist on enforcing.

On technical terms, unranked is like silver because I saw a website saying I was silver despite not finishing my placements.

I said BY DEFAULT. As soon as you hit lvl 30 you're considered Silver. The way you play increases/decreases your elo to different levels of play.

lol maybe let's just say ALL elos suck huh? Maybe LCS players are simply the special snowflakes who can actually play? And when they make mistakes then condemn them too huh? Like with Dyrus during the 2015 Worlds. Damn hypocrites, i'm generalizing here and if you're Diamond then you should know better what i meant. The Silver status is a default set after 30 so every game you play after the Silver set will change your MMR from there on.

Literally had a game JUST LIKE THIS as Twitch . The Braum support just wanted to engage over and over and flamed me for not following him into bad engages because they were stronger than us, and instead just farming all I could, and focusing objectives like towers and drags.

By the mid/end of the game I had a lot of farm/gold and got unexpectedly big which allowed me to be extra effective in teamfights and contribute heavily to our WIN :D

In post game chat I reminded him that this game is League of Legends, not COD Team DeathMatch and he actually apologized for flaming and saw the value in what I was doing. It was like seeing a unicorn...

It works VERY well, defensive mage supps fulfill nothing else in the game but as an emergency backup (they do this amazingly tho). They're not ACTUALLY mages in the way they give burst, nor do they have the huge zoning of Orianna/Anivia, but instead they exist to let the allies put in almost everything they have to win a teamfight, and let the support be there when things go wrong.

Nami & Sona are actually not as defensive as Soraka and Janna tho. They can do damage if needed.
