In-depth guide to beating Sion
Well, since Melledoneus decided to take the high ground and instruct us all in how to fight against the overwhelming power of Shenpai, I feel obligated to do the same for the Great Pain Train.

So, without further ado, I shall enlighten you in the optimal method of beating an enemy Sion:
-
Sion is a giant coward, but he doesn't want you to know that. Many of his abilities reflect his cowardice, and you have to make sure he doesn't run away from you. That's why most of these tips focus on keeping you as close to Sion as possible - Don't let him get away!
-
Sion's shout is a terrifying weapon - he can use it to devastating effect to throw your own minions right in your face! Not only is this extremely rude and humiliating for you, it also deals extra damage to you! The best way to counter this is to stand between Sion and your minions. This prevents Sion from throwing the minions at you, and decreases the damage you will take if he does shout at you - as everyone knows, yelling will hurt you much less than projectile minions.
-
Just like Shen, Sion has rightfully been given a moment of weakness in order to make fighting him more fair. This moment is easy to see - he will raise his axe high in the air for a couple of seconds. This is important because, during this time, Sion can't move or attack! Use this opportunity to get right up close to Sion - right in his face - so you can start fighting him and he can't escape afterwards.
-
Sion's shield is another major problem for you - like any shield, it won't let you actually damage Sion while it's active! The best thing to do is just wait the shield out. Soon enough, the shield will "pop" (it even makes a cool popping animation and sound), and you can start attacking Sion again. Stick close to him while the shield is up to make sure he doesn't run away again.

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make when fighting against Sion is how they react to his ult. So many people make the mistake of trying to move sideways to avoid Sion - that's the silliest tactic I've ever seen! Basic geometry tells you that that is wrong! Let me explain with this basic diagram: https://i.imgflip.com/1dshsx.jpg As you can see, Sion is ulting at you (Garen). There are two scenarios here: 1) move 10 feet to the side or 2) move 10 feet directly away from Sion. The first scenario is wrong! As you can clearly see from the diagram, this makes the distance Sion has to travel to reach you only 14 feet! But, if you run directly away from Sion, he has to travel 20 feet to reach you! This gives you more time to get away from him! The best strategy when Sion is ulting you is to run as fast as you can in the same direction - Sion's ult has a set speed, so use whatever you can to go faster - Ghost, Flash, movement abilities, whatever, just move fast! Trying to turn or zig-zag will only waste precious time and let Sion get on top of you faster. It is also good to throw whatever CC you have at him to slow him down. Slows, stuns, knock-ups, etc.
-
Remember - Sion is the biggest (literally and figuratively) threat to your team. If he engages your team, make sure to focus him down quickly - especially during his moment of weakness (tip 3), get your whole team to jump on him. Tip 4 does not apply for teamfights, since you will have enough people to take out his shield. But to do so, you'll all need to use everything you have - nuke him down with all your abilities. It's ok if you go overkill on him, you just need to make sure he's dead.
-
If you follow these steps correctly and are able to kill Sion, remember to dance on his dead body to show him who's boss. This let's him know who the superior player is.
And now you know how to face the mighty Sion! Now go forth to battle! I just hope I won't regret letting everyone know how to fight my OP main...
