Only the original cartoonish look remained several months before release and they customized that, too. Makes one think the leak was not so accidental either.

bill842 votesWhat makes me wonder about this is why necisary for her to be unable to buy boots. Do they think that she might abuse them? I don't think that this is reasonable because that would sacrifice a ton of stats that she would be able to get while still having the same if not more movespeed as everyone else.
Xosra1 votesWell if what people said is right and the passive sits between swifties and tier two then her buying boots along with her passive would make her faster than even people with swifties. That might end up making her uncatchable and unescapable.

Battlecast Sona2 votesbecause it's a way to gate Cass's power (you can't increase your movespeed without increasing your level or buying ms items that aren't boots, which are cheap) without putting it behind a passive that needs 500 stacks. They want Cass to be able to scale, but because of the spammy nature of her kit they also are trying to prevent her from having a really strong level 2 spike. Before it was with a stacking passive, but overall that was received poorly, so they went with something that makes more sense thematically and also accomplishes their goal.

It's actually a really clever passive that gives her a stronger endgame while also granting faster early game itemization.

Battlecast Sona1 votesi think they were just aiming for a way to give Cassi a weak early and strong late without her having that stacking passive or making her numbers crap. This way, since Cass isn't getting 25% cdr and 30% additional AP from passive anymore, some of that power can be funneled back into her kit (since the boots passive and extra slot, while nice, probably won't make up for that dcap 1.1k AP spike at 6 items)

will make it in there, though. From what was released on PBE, she doesn't seem uber bursty, so maybe flat magic pen isn't as good and perhaps will be a better buy on her?
OneDeadPixel1 votesI actually remember this passive from another naga themed fan champion that was pitched on the old champion concept forum years ago. It was some snake dude mage who's gimick was being able to buy a 6th their 3 Item instead of boots with his passive giving him the movespeed he would otherwise be lacking.
Tell me Rito, is that where you got the idea for the for Cassiopeias passive rework?
